yeah because some guys in my country use a big bike for daily use like go to college, work , etc , and the street is always crowded
and its not common in third world country to have big bike, majority of rider use an 150cc or scooter

Wait till next year and get the NEW 1399 S..Going to be a great bike in traffic I hear...Real advice... Get yourself a Honda CBR 300 or Yamaha FZ-09..I think this style bike will better suit your needs. Down the road get a bigger bike if you so desire..Good luck with your adventure.

Honestly I think you'll be fine as long as you're not an idiot. Keep a level head and be disciplined with your wrist.

I tell you what though, goosing it in 195 Hi can bite you so take it easy and learn slow.

The Panigale was my second bike and I've been riding for 4 seasons.

Wow I never let my girl on that back of my Panigale because it will probably ruin our sex life! it will either damage her goods or she would probably enjoy it more than our sex life!: Talk out one massive 195HP vibrator eek:

But seriously its not a two up bike with that stiff rear end.

my friend rode his wife on the back of his 1199. it lasted about 10 min before her legs were burning. granted it was a 2012 1199 s but has anyone else have that experience?

Don't tell Phil that.

I've seen him ride with his wife 2-up. And she's tall. Brave woman (especially considering Phil). :)

OK; I'll just say it: REALLY BAD IDEA.

Honestly, I would suggest you get a R3 or 600cc bike instead. I think the 1199/1299 is way too much for Indo streets, especially if your in Jakarta? And if you live outside of the city it would be destroyed by the gravel/dirt roads. Inside the city I'd really get an R3 or RC390.

I can only recommend it if you decide to turbo it. Not sure there is enough power to avoid traffic in stock trim.

+1 on the RC390.
Lots of fun on the road and I bet it is a hoot on the track.

wow i just know 1299s got a wheelie control ! thats cool but i think im gonna wait for 4 - 5 month to get 1 , because in my country dealer they say ducati 1299 panigale all series not yet been supplied to indonesia

Why does your "English" proficiency come in and out....

I just checked back on this thread and it's gotten awesomer....

Seriously, if you want a Duc, get a Scrambler.

Anyone could ride it in town but the bike likes to go fast and be in the high rev range period. It hates turning slow, riding slow and is miserable in the lower rev range.

The bike takes some time getting used to, but once you learn how control it, it handles like a dream. On the track or through the canyons any mistake you make it you will feel it exponentially at least 3X. The bike will let you know you F'd up. If you are a good rider this bike is smooth as silk on the track and canyons. My son has been riding my 1199 on the track since he was 16 and Ive seen his lap times decreased by 5 sec in one year of riding it. His biggest challenge was coming from an inline 4 (R-6) to a L-Twin. Not so much of the power but learning the power curve and knowing when to use it. He swore by the s1000RR he rode at the Cal Super bike school but now he rather have the 1199. His comments are the same as mine once you learn how to ride it there is nothing out there that handles better. His words was "The S1000RR is really easy to ride but once you become a better rider it leaves you wanting a little bit more. Thats where the Panigale comes in" He said dad comparing the BMW and Panigale is like comparing skiing (BMW) and snowboarding (Panigale). Skiing was really easy to learn than snowboarding but once you learn how to snowboard the sky is the limit on the things you can do with it.

About the track we dont have many track in indonesia, im beginning to reconsider to 600cc or maybe a monster / streetfighter 848, i read the review and panigale cant take too much weight, my weight alone is 253 lbs and for the info im serious and not trolling or joking
But still my heart is still on panigale, but my personal opinion i cant handle it past gear 3, since i have 0 experience in real big bike (er6n or ninja 250 dont count as big bike since its easy to ride and too friendly)

899 cures both really. Its a panigale but more tame for the streets since you want a panigale.

The panigale is easy to ride, as long as you are careful!

I can't imagine how riding a super bike on public roads in Asia would be like.
For sure there are other roads than we know from tv, but from what I've seen so far, no :)

Get it, be patient and careful and have fun man!

And please post pics on the best panigale forum on the web!

Like everyone else, my knee jerk reaction was shock. But you've got to give him some credit as he has several years of riding experience. How many Harley riders are out there that can barely ride a bicycle?

There is an insane redhead sitting next to me that loves pillioning on the Dragon Lady. She is only happy when the Dragon Lady power wheelies at insane speeds. I need help. She says there is nothing wrong with our sex life. Call 911!
