Panigale V4 Swingarm Position

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I had these on my 2020 base v4 they mounted using the top hole.

they now fit my 2022 base V4 using the bottom hole.

They are listed as fitting all the V4 models including the R and you can see they have the classic 4 positions marked on them.

How does that work then? If the external circle stayed the same throughout rotation of the 4 positions id get it. But then why need the upper and lower mounting holes?

I was just looking at these rearsets this wkend. There is a seller here at the track that had them fro €650.
I couldn't understand the oddball heal guard designs. One carbon, one AL...
Did you find them working for you? Sorry threadjack reasets question.

yes quality product you can't see both sides at once......;-)

these are the more expensive ones as they have the better mountings on the rather than just bolting to the original...

Heal guards. Why so odd and one different than the other? Do they feel like they mean something when you're riding?

Not at all … lots of ducatis over the years have had different heels guards..

The V4 guards are different as the right is larger. The Spider right guard just looks like something designed to protect the rear brake master.

The right side has no heel guard! The carbon fibre plate protects the rear brake master cylinder.

And there's no need for a heel guard on the right. There's just the heat shield for the exhaust, in that area.

yeah....protect the rear brake master cylinder from your foot on the right,....and protect the swing arm from your boot and your boot from the swing arm on the left, we could call it a guard from the heel of your boot.. or a heel guard...they do serve a purpose ffs:rolleyes:

Mostly I was wondering how they feel. The OEM are not amazing. My left heel rubs the swingin' swongarm a lot. The right is pretty neutral.
I need a new situation. When hanging off my upper boot is not planted well and the heel guards are not a help really. I would like way better foot connection. I find I'm resting my heel ontop of the left heal guard and swingarm in right turns. Obvi I need some new rearsets, and a position that's a bit higher.

Rearsets will help, but they only offer small changes.
When turning right, I'd your left foot off the peg, and on the top of the heel guard?

Or change your rearset position and your riding style?

Pirro isn't that tall but look where he has his pegs in the said spider rear sets..

and the right hand side they have made a different guard for the rear master cylinder to protect it from...er your foot, boot, heel...or perhaps a couple of lesbians scantily clad in baby oil?
How well do you know Barni,.. can't you get one from them? .. a heel guard not a lesbian, though you never know? ;-)

Ya that's what I was thinking. Larger heel guard. The odd moment you hit a big bump in full lean your heal can get kicked off by the swingarm, that's obnoxious.
Wait no that's not my only issue. I think I'm single again. Maybe it's not a problem actually. I had way too much to do before. Ok I've decided. I'm single again.

DP rearsets are good as are Attack Performance... DP heel guards are also nice as they flex a little bit.

Having said that I'd get Spider rearsets if I had to replace mine. They don't require any modification to the bike and they're reasonably priced, good quality and haven't noticed any complaints about them.

As for the swingarm... Ilmberger make a nice cover

Both of these on my bike and no issues so far.

Spider rearsets are superior to Lightech so far.
