i win every single time i get on a bike.

and if Ducati was winning you would be first to brag about that, well maybe after you reiterated how good the plastic looks. and i too was quite happy when the 916 won because it was one of the pinnacles in motorcycle design, both inside and out, and for great reason.

Hahaha now you've resorted to name calling? Yeah, I'm the one with Aspergers.

My post was directed at VAST but since you jumped on board I included you in my question, but since you're being such a nancy I'll direct it straight at VAST.

VAST: When was the last time you won anything on a bike? You posted Aprilia's WSBK win as if it actually means anything to bike owners on this forum.

Simply pointing out that manufacturers have capitalized on racing success in showrooms since the beginning of the current era. Look at Yamaha's R1 ads currently. They all talk about owning the AMA championship winning bike. EVERYONE knows they're not even close to being the same bike, but they sell that message anyway. If you can't understand that, then maybe you shouldn't comment on it. And I don't ever call people I respect names.

You don't have to own a bike to discuss it, but to provide an opinion about the experience of one as if you KNOW it when you actually haven't experienced it is very different. I could have told you lots of things about the Panigale before I finally got one, but I couldn't give you my opinion if it involved direct experience with the bike. More importantly I want to know what the .... WSBK results have to do with owning a Panigale or an Aprilia............ bragging rights at Starbucks?

You should mention Starbucks in more of your posts:rolleyes:

I wouldn't be, because I don't give a .... about race wins. Maybe you should actually comprehend the words you see on your screen, go re-read my last few posts in this thread. I don't give a .... about race wins. I still bought a Panigale even though Rossi sucked the biggest balls I've ever seen on a Ducati. So don't assume what I would do if Ducati was winning, because I wouldn't be bragging about it.

and it wasn't name calling. it was merely pointing out a behavioral trait which does not always respond to logic as evidenced by the WSBK results lack of comprehension coupled with the emotional outbursts.

did Rossi suck? did Ducati suck? or maybe they both sucked? and let me just say, i would never label Rossi as sucking. but results matter in terms of sales, or else there would be no pro races and no sponsorships etc etc etc

hopefully one day Ducati starting winning and their sales go back up! and their bolts get loctited and/or designed properly!

you ought to ride one, an rsv4 that is. They certainly are spanking ducati in WSB.

By my count aprilia has one 4 WSBK races this season, and ducati?????? oops, not a trick question..........

and manufacturers, aprilia 208, ducati..............65.........

My apologies, it was zvez who mentioned 4 WSBK wins like we actually give a .....

and how many here owned the AR system? allow me: about 1% of the posters. so I guess 99% up in here are, oh the feigned apology, frauds?

and pedrin, if you want to get into it, i can take it, but don't cry like RSR when i sling it back ;)

and speaking of motivations, why not simply admit that not loctiting bolts and designing them correctly is a BASIC FLAW? as is a fogging up dash revision f or is it now g, h, i, capacitors x, y and z?

Hey, you wont get in an argument with me about that. I got one of the first bikes back in May and I am still dealing with leaky gaskets, defective slave cylinder etc.. I still love the bike, probably some sort of Stockholm Syndrome variant. but the point is that I dont spend my time bitching in the piaggio forums just because the three vespas I owned in the 80s crapped on me...I am truly intrigued by your motivation

my motivation: i win every time i get on this forum :D and win = pleasurable experience (not wining a race or argument).

Hey Frosty...

Ok question back to you...

Why does any manufacturer enter racing???
You don't think they use it as a huge marketing opportunity to sell their product?? You think Porsche don't play on their Le Mans victories?? Or that Ferrari doesn't use their " F1 tech" to sell cars?? Of course they do... no one here is claiming the Rsv4 is the same bike as their Wsbk bikes...of course they aren't but Ducati are in both MotoGp and Wsbk for the very reasons I just listed... and their lack of success does reflect badly...It really does....
Audi will spend lord knows how much money engineering facilities and time to get Ducati back on the podium..just you watch... and why

To sell on Tuesday (as most dealers are closed on Mondays as Frosty says lol)

Good points. Even everyone's favorite;), NASCAR, markets the Camry, Taurus, Impala etc. And those are even less similar to production vehicles than WSB bikes are to ours. Surely, though you've repeatedly said you don't care, you can understand that right Frosty Starbucks?

Is this thread officially derailed now??:D
Frosty...just so you know.. we love having you on here...You have the strangest frames of reference sometimes but you are an asset to the forum (most times lol) in that you give cause to laugh and wonder..

PS... Check your bolts... they may come loose..

I would argue that he may have loose bolt or two naturally:)

To your point though, this site is great entertainment and offers a nice break from the stresses of daily life. And I don't even really miss the free movies.

I didnt say their race efforts weren't for marketing purposes. I'm asking what difference it makes to YOU the owner of the bike, so you can go brag to your buddies at Starbucks about how someone else won a race with similar equipment to yours? Pat on the ....... back, beers all round.

Starbucks sell beer now??? :)

Frosty you never studied marketing or have a strong grip on advertising and rudimentary behavioral neuroscience...the collective gaze and the notion of pulling up on a sexy two-wheeled Ferrari missing some bolts and how that individual is perceived is a strong component in mc sales, as it is with many other products. by the same token, that bragging rights wreath sticker on championship winning bikes is always there when it is deserved and is a basic positive feedback loop from proud owner (and his/her ego) to co.

don't drink and ride.
