Not easy to change the plugs either, but what else do you have to do in the winter? Mark - 2 hours - WHO CARES?. As for the melting, fogging, loose bolts, VERY rare. My dealer has never seen them. Turn signal issues were fixed with a wire. The sprocket change is a matter of opinion, but Ducati covered it. Why do you care about a manual if you don't like spending 2 hours working on your bike? Lastly, Ducati offered 3 seats, no other manufacturer does, that's why it came with the stock so you could choose. You should list all the Pros if you are listing cons, only fair. :)

Posts like these is why your under friends on my profile !!!!

I agree with you 10000%

No offense intended (much), but Mark, WHAT THE F*** are you on this forum for? You epitomize a TROLL. Every time I sign on, I get to read more of your continual, never-relenting diatribe about what a POS the Panigale is, and how wonderful the BMW is. Point taken, okay? Go away please. You are like a constant, wet, stinking diaper. We ALL know how you feel AD NAUSEUM, please just go the F away. You and your Beemer buddies can give each other a nice tongue bath if that's your thing, but for mercy sakes, just go away.

whats the matter Jim can't have an opinion opposite of an ....... like yourself. So the purpose of the forum is to do nothing but sing kumbyya about the bike. . Do you blow the tailpipe of your ducati saying its the best ever? don't worry big guy. you are still the best out there i love riding you with my butt plug in so when i hit the bumps you feel so good. if you don't want to read my post ignore them. i don't give 2 ..... what you think. i never said how wonderful the bmw . i don't own the bmw YET. do you have to attack bmw because your panigale may be inferior. i said the ducati is not worth the money. i said bmw (and i do that on purpose you can substitute any brand you want but i use bmw cause you ........ can't take if someone says bmw is a better bike get it). why don't you go the .... away. i point out the flaws as i see them if you don't like it to ....... bad. maybe you and you ducati buddies can convince each other how great this bike is and give each other a tongue bath. pretty tough you are behind a keyboard aren't you duchebag jim. i know how you feel AD NAUSEUM please just go the .... away.

PS I don't know one person personally that owns the BMW but i know plenty that own the 1199 and have had the same problems i have had.

i will continue to bash the panigale every chance i get even if its not true so you get annoyed.

Mark,

You're not actually making the Panigale look bad... you're making yourself look bad with the type of posts you make. I think it's a good thing you speak up and post about the problems you experienced, but it's crazy you assume everyone else has the same issues. You're essentially telling everyone with a 1199 that even if their bike has been problem free, they shouldn't enjoy it and they should considered it flawed because of the problems YOU experienced.

Lol, hope your HP4 is problem-free or I guess you'll be forced to tell every HP4 owner their bike is crap, not worth the money, and they shouldn't get much enjoyment out of it.

I would like to think Ducati monitors this forum, so it's good for owners to provide feedback on things they like and don't like. Just look at the new Corvette Stingray... it's vastly improved over the C6 because GM listened to all the complaints on the Vette forums. But it's hard to say you're providing constructive criticism... it's reads more like you're trolling which lessens the impact of what you have to say.

surely you cant be serious. i know there are subtle differences which 99.9 % on this forum couldnt use or tell me how it makes a difference. all you r guys how many times have you adjusted the swing arm. better yet did you even know you could adjust the swing arm. I love this forum i really do i will have to post more than i do. get all your panties in a bunch cause the panigale is the 3rd best bike out. here have a tissue.

that being said i would have bought the R if it were out when i got the S because i love the tank

Guess my R which is the "3rd best bike out" will just have to do.

So you are a part of the .1% that can use that special HP4 "competition" to its full extent?

I will be sure to use that ignore feature from now on for the guys who take the time to whine on a Ducati forum constantly about their Ducati even when it's been established that you will be going to the BMW...

My 5 year old daughter complains less...

Mark, you miss the point - not surprising considering the state of your grammar and spelling, it is rather obvious you are an uneducated dolt. What I object to is the continual diatribe flowing from your flapping lips. I belong and participate on this forum to celebrate the bike. Yes, it could be improved in certain respects, and I have posted areas - mostly suspension related - where I am trying to improve it. The big difference is that I don't piss and moan and whine constantly as you do, I attempt to make it better. I gets tiring Mark. You hate the bike, there is no doubt about that. I don't, and my guess is that the majority of other forum readers here do not either. Little-man syndrome strikes again - go conquer a continent or something Mark.

It's been confirmed 100% of people that correct grammar and spelling in the internet are total ......... Good work Jim

A little sensitive are we Mark? They have meds for your condition, but personally I feel institutionalization may be the only effective treatment in your case. I will try and work on getting additional poor grammar and incorrect spelling further integrated into my comments by reading some of your previous postings. No better way I can think of than that.
Signed, ".......". (it's been documented according to Dr. Mark and Nicky).

At what point does the effectiveness and integrity of our moderators get called into question? This is a forum run and supported by enthusiasts of this platform, yet posters such as this who post with the sole intention of aggravating the community and inciting a negative response are allowed to continue conducting themselves in a way that is detrimental to the value of this forum.

This poster is now blatantly egging on the forum with statements such as the sentence in bold above, throwing out derogatory names towards other members, and creating threads with the sole purpose of inciting unrest. Why has this user not been reprimanded with a minimum of a temporary ban? Simply locking threads or advising members to use the ignore feature are no longer viable options. How long must the actions of one ill-intentioned poster be allowed to continue to the detriment of this forum and its members?

Agreed . It is now detrimental to the forum and to future new members seeking genuine advice .
The rest of us are just sick of it .

None of these latter posts are even remotely related to the topic and probably of even less interest than most thread drifts.

Remember that insulting each other is a no-no.

Mark, we're all aware of your love/hate for the 1199, I'm good with that. But all this is really not needed and apparently no one appreciates it. I think it's also pretty much established that the majority of members really don't care.

You really don't need posts ad nauseum about how big a piece of junk the 1199 is..............some may already know, the vast majority probably never will and will have problem free and happy ownership experiences.
Chris

I think this is a good time to post a link to the IGNORE option.

Anyone that frequents public internet forums knows that sometimes people rub each other the wrong way, it's easier because being on a forum is kind of detached from real contact.

I highly recommend using the IGNORE option (link below on how to do it). This way if you have a person that genuinely bothers or annoys you can choose to set them on ignore and voila, the problem is gone.

The diversion in this thread began in post #10 when Mark yet again interjected discussion of a BMW product into a thread that had absolutely nothing to do with BMW. This issue no longer gravitates around his love/hate relationship with the Panigale, but with his intentional efforts to agitate the community, as evidenced by the bolded statement above.

The ignore option is not an acceptable alternative and I simply refuse to implement it. Advising the good-standing members of this forum to adjust their reading preferences to cater to the limited few who are determined to devalue the forum is illogical and will eventually degrade the quality of the content within this forum. Do not expect members to do the job of a moderator; either take care of the problem for the community or give up your position to someone who cares enough to act.

Steve/stw moderator and zvez moderator Phil/Phil moderator as well help out with people trying to sell items fraudulently or posts from craiglistbuyer and movie download cyborgs I believe they do there job more then good enough ! To expect a moderator to interfere between debates of ones feelings or deliberate antagonism over IDIOTS that don't know how to ignore and keep moving is wrong and just stupid... Mark looks stupid to you guys (and I'm not just saying this because he's my friend I like all of you guys) but ultimately you guys entertain him and add wood to his fire.... I feel like he will stop bitching when you guys do.... I love my bike !!!! Man if the .... don't start and all I can do is stare I love it!!!! Mark knows this I know this but we don't quarrel just be open minded be adults and while you guys compare him to your "daughters" you guys sound like the girl who's retaliating with your daughters or kids and stop the spelling correction ........ I know doctors and people in the med field making $ 700,000.00 that can't spell ... We are not writing essays just communicating

The ignore option is certainly an acceptable alternative. Absolutely it's your right to refuse to use the ignore option. We're adults here and up to you, Mark and I have spoken about this. He is by no means the only person doing the name calling etc.

This forum has done rather well since moderators were instituted here. We're very light in use of moderation as the bulk of members agreed light moderation was the desired standard back when we started. If at some point it appears the consensus of the active members is for more aggressive moderation we will certainly cross that bridge as needed.

This forum has weathered far worse instances of abuse (cough* frosty cough*) and still seems to struggle on.

I'll let the other mods chime in as they fit as I speak only for me and my interpretation of moderation as it has been here.

Absolutely I will step aside as moderator anytime the board members feel I'm not doing an adequate job. I think I could still manage to live with myself.

Here is a decent example of what this thread may/should have looked like if not for the trollish tampering antics, posted approximately three hours after the first post of this thread: R owners, how much did you pay for yours?...

Which do you feel is a) more enjoyable to read, b) more helpful to the OP, and c) a better representation of the Ducati ownership community? Do you believe that thread would have been either of those things if someone was permitted to intentionally derail the topic? The ignore option is a personal preference tool, it is not a moderator's solution for a public nuisance.

I totally concur with Chris's post....When moderators were discussed on here prior to their appointment it was pretty clear that just about everybody wanted moderation in moderation..and that has certainly been my credo since day one...

There will always be times when members disagree about its level but pleasing everyone is just impossible.... The very liberal nature of this forum is one of its many attractions and a simple spat between a few guys is..whilst being less than meritorious for anyone involved..is not going to change my style...
