Yes but it will wear the chain and sprokets sooner and I believe there are other advantages to going up in the rear.
My dealer didnt know anything about a special price though:mad:

Agree, but for some reason, they are set on "easier" to do the front... :rolleyes:

I will do the 41t rear in the future.

this was also the question here in germany in our forum ´s.
but it seems that there is no way to get any kind of map-serialnumber on the dash.

yeah, last time I had my bike in the shop, my tech said "hey we put new map on there."

I'm thinking, what version? version 1,090? just kidding.

Just got back from my first service and new map. Wow seat of the pants mid range is awesome, slightly better in low speed riding but the best part is the tone in the exhaust changed. I've read it somewhere when AntiHero posted the same thing sayi the exhaust changed after the up map. Sure as .... it sounds so much deeper now, and I have no idea how that could be.

Anyone else notice it?

I was only out for 15 mins cuz of the ...... weather here but enough to notice the difference.

My 2012 1199 had the new Termignoni heat shield installed today. It was suppose to get the new (last late fall) UpMap done today but they forgot to ask me to give them the UpMap thumb-drive. Apparently they need the UpMap Thumb Drive because I have the full Termignoni Exhaust. I'll be able to drop off the UpMap Thumb Drive tomorrow night and have them down load the latest software for the Full Termignoni exhaust system on Thursday.

Reminder for those with the Full Termignoni Exhaust: Don't forget to hand the dealer service department your UpMap Thumb Drive.

I saw dyno results I while back on the new ecu update and it was +19 ft/lbs at 4500 rpm's and +12 hp at 6500 or 6700 and it obviously filled in the flat spot between 4000-5000 rpm. I was very impressed when I had mine done thats for sure. Good job Ducati:D

I ride a new 2013 1199R with Full System Titanium installed.
Got it only a week ago.
How do i know if i have to update the Up Map or/and the 41T Sprocket?
Is there any self test i can do by myself?

got the call from my dealer to say that they have done the up-map and replaced the clocks under warrenty because of them misting. Does the heatshield come under warrenty too? hopefully I,l find time to pick it up this week

Getting up map tomorrow...Dealer said they have replaced a couple of displays on other bikes but the fogging comes back and as of yet Ducati do not have an out and out fix...but they will be in touch when / if Ducati come out with a proper fix for the display fogging issues..

sadly under review my bike already had the latest map so no changes for me :-( but the tech must have done something else as the bike runs loads better now.

Also as the sun was out, i took the opportunity to change to 195HI - oh my.......this is MUCH more what I was expecting or hoping for in the bike :)

Now I can't wait to get the 41t sprocket kit I have on order!

Just got a quote for the 41T sprocket and chain. Looks to be around $150 each at Hattar in San Rafael.

Don't think I'm going to go for it though...

Hi guys this is more for the Aussies to aid in the confusion re the 41 tooth sprocket which requires an up map which only changes parameters for the traction control not engine mapping according to my dealer in Brisbane. :rolleyes:

You have to ask for it as your dealer will not be forth coming about the
* CF heat shield ( warranty, free)
* sprocket ( at cost price )
* dash ( warranty )
* melting fairing ( warranty - replaced with a re designed lower rhs panel ) :eek:

All my bits are on order, fairing has arrived but still waiting for the dash.

note - look for a ripple and black colour below exhaust pipe on lower rhs fairing!

I have the full Termi System but WTF is a UpMap Thumb Drive?

It'll be in the box with your stock pipes. It's basically a USB thumb drive. Its annoying you should need it every time there's a map though, doesn't apply to Slips.

Picked mine back up today, there is a noticeable difference in the fueling at low speed and in the mid range...loved it!..only 1 thing though my not so helpful man a ducati said they had uploaded 2 ECU upgrades the first one being the one which sorts out the fueling and mid range and the 2nd one ..well in his words "ive no idea what that one does but it said you needed it so we did it anyway" ....anybody care too enlighten me?
