Just back from Duc Pond in VA - they don't have the map yet, so they couldn't do the sprocket change either. New heat shield makes a big difference, but it's kind of fugly.

Race Evo UP-MAP difference

I just installed the Termignoni full system and loaded the included UP-MAP for Racing Evo. Haven't ridden it yet to see the difference. Also, I'm just beyond the 621 mile break in point that limited making power above 6K RPM. Now I'm in the second break in phase from 621 miles to around 1500 miles where the RPM is now limited to 8K.

I'll have to wait for the full break in until I can really feel what's going on. However, I won't have anything prior to compare the power band to, because the prior riding is all during the RPM limiting break in period.

??? The rpm should move to 11.5K when the temp warms up after the first service.

There is no electronic limit on the rpm levels with the different break-in recommendations. The rpm will go as high as you want to twist the throttle. If you want maximum power from your motor I would suggest you more get more aggressive for proper break in to seat the rings.

Rode mine today for the 1rst time with whatever map was being loaded late last year. Considerably better, but still "hunting" at 5 to 7K.
Are others feeling this?? Can not hold a steady RPM in this range. Surges. Been a complaint of mine since new. Installed Termi slip ons (only mod), little, if any difference.

No hunting on mine!

Go back to your dealer and tell him whats going on. Maybe get it re flashed!

Nothing like that on mine.....sorry to hear you are still having issues

Test rode the '12 panigale and was a bit disappointed, read about the new map, went to the dealer to test ride the '13 panigale ( I assume with new map) what a difference best bike I ever rode. Put a deposit on a '13 panigale s.

PS: Is it me or does the engine rev faster with a new map?

I would've thought that there wouldn't be any 2012 models out there that weren't already updated with the new improved maps. It's the same bike with the update.
IMO the original 2012 heat shield looks better.

Only the 1199 R will accelerate faster due to the Titanium con rods and lighter Flywheel;)

It's just that the power curve is stronger where you need it more.
With the new maps it's clearly running a bit richer through the midrange, rather than being a bit too lean.

Post pics of your new toy when you get it:)

Cheers

Hi there everyone!
I just purchased a 2013 1199 and I am curious about the current map I am running. Does anyone know how I can find out?
Many thanks,
Nikki

The only way to ensure you're up to date is to take it to the dealer.

When you do it is up to you.
If it's running fine and you're happy with it, I would leave it until the next service is due unless the dealer is close.
