So I say again , are we coming to a consensus here ? Is Anzac day the one or would the next day ( Sunday ) be better for more of us ? Two weeks away now so we should firm this up .
I absolutely can't do ANZAC day or part thereof anytime.
For me it's the Dawn Service in the city, then the ANZAC march in the city later in the morning with an official function for lunch after the march.
Lately, I typically work a 12 hour shift 1800-0600 Thurs, Fri, Sat(that includes ANZAC day), Sun.
With the above in mind, I may only get 2.5-3 hours of sleep between 0330, 25/4 and 0630 26/4. Fortunately I have been able to get a fill-in for my shift on 24/4 to facilitate ANZAC day activities.
With current work commitments, It's one of the reasons why mid week rides work out well for me besides the lack of cops and mindless traffic.
The bulk of May is out because one of my work colleagues is away on holidays in Japan.
I propose.
How about we bring it forward to Sunday the 20/4/15 for an early meet up and greet for breakfast between 0730-0930 to provide for some flexibility for people who have to travel a bit(north and south) and a ride to finish off the day commencing at 0930.
I know a couple of places for the breakfast meet-up which may suit. One is at Wooloongabba, and the other is at Wilston.
A ride over Mount Glorious won't be too long with a fill-up at the Caltex servo in Samford, and we can split up on either side of Glorious for those wishing to continue on their own way home.
The Wilston meet-up location works out superbly for the ride over Glorious.
All this is weather permitting of course.
Any feedback Gentlemen?
I think sooner rather than later as the weather is cooling off.
