So I say again , are we coming to a consensus here ? Is Anzac day the one or would the next day ( Sunday ) be better for more of us ? Two weeks away now so we should firm this up .

I absolutely can't do ANZAC day or part thereof anytime.
For me it's the Dawn Service in the city, then the ANZAC march in the city later in the morning with an official function for lunch after the march.
Lately, I typically work a 12 hour shift 1800-0600 Thurs, Fri, Sat(that includes ANZAC day), Sun.
With the above in mind, I may only get 2.5-3 hours of sleep between 0330, 25/4 and 0630 26/4. Fortunately I have been able to get a fill-in for my shift on 24/4 to facilitate ANZAC day activities.

With current work commitments, It's one of the reasons why mid week rides work out well for me besides the lack of cops and mindless traffic.
The bulk of May is out because one of my work colleagues is away on holidays in Japan.

I propose.
How about we bring it forward to Sunday the 20/4/15 for an early meet up and greet for breakfast between 0730-0930 to provide for some flexibility for people who have to travel a bit(north and south) and a ride to finish off the day commencing at 0930.

I know a couple of places for the breakfast meet-up which may suit. One is at Wooloongabba, and the other is at Wilston.
A ride over Mount Glorious won't be too long with a fill-up at the Caltex servo in Samford, and we can split up on either side of Glorious for those wishing to continue on their own way home.
The Wilston meet-up location works out superbly for the ride over Glorious.

All this is weather permitting of course.

Any feedback Gentlemen?
I think sooner rather than later as the weather is cooling off.

Are you talking Sunday the 19th or Monday 20th? I can only do Saturday that weekend, defence support awards on Sunday which I have to go to. Your idea sounds good though, just a meet up first, then we'll worry about riding

Sorry my mistake:confused:

Yes the proposal was intended to be Sunday the 19th.

So we're talking Saturday the 18th which is best for you.
And it's firming up at that as well;)

With a view to a kick off at Wilston to keep things simple?
There's good parking out the front, round the side, or behind the place.
The rest of the plan seems fine??
There's plenty of flexibility in it to accommodate a number of individual requirements.

Anybody else?

Bugger it, I'm committing to be there at 0730 sharp on the 18th regardless.
Weather permitting I'm doing the ride.
Just looking at the BOM the weather may be ok that far ahead, which is about all we can expect given the uncertainty around the current weather patterns.
PM me if anybody else is interested:)

The more we get to meet up and know each other, the easier it will be to get together in the future:)

I'm with Crankman on this one, not sure if I can make it, trying to sell my house at the moment and have a lot of maintenance to get done. One of lifes great tragedies, when we are young we have all the time in the world and no money, the older we get that seems to reverse.
If you can post or PM the address Brad I will do my best to get there.

Cheers
JT

Ok , it's looking like I will be able to make it so if you can send me the details of the meeting point that would be good. My schedule has opened up and have just fitted new lithium Iron battery so all good to go . For interest sake 1.9 kg weight saving .
How many others are in for this ride??

I'm doing a track day at pimpama the following weekend so I'm out for a few weeks sorry guys.

Crankman, most of my weekend rides lately are last minute, but I'm only 20 mins from you (Ormeau) so PM me your ph number and I'll drop you a txt when I'm heading out. Usually if I'm short on time it will just be up and over the mountain and back from the bearded dragon side.

Track day, is that with toprider? At the cart track?

OK on the rides deal, will PM ph number soon , I am only about 3 mins from the bearded dragon.

Not going to make it I'm afraid, too much to do, not enough time, have fun, hopefully catch you guys on the next one.

Cheers

I did the last one there a few weeks back , had a ball , it is tight , no super high speed but a great day , was knackered at the end

I was meant to do that one and had booked, but then I had my engine issue so postponed it.
Crankman - Do you feel you got enough track time on the day? Did you just run street trim? I'm just wondering if I should trailer the bike there and take my gene and warmers etc or given that it is literally 5mins from my house just ride the bike there and just do it in street trim...

We had six fifteen minute sessions on the day , 10 riders in total split into two groups , so only 5 on track plus a couple of staff at a time , was pretty laid back which was great for me as it was the first time I had done any sort of track day, I rode there , had a ball , no one had tyre warmers on the day, hope this helps

How was the run guys, sorry I couldn't get there, I'm sitting in surprisingly sunny London at the moment, if a little chilly, back this weekend though for Anzac day, let me know if you guys are going for a ride Sunday.

Cheers
JT
