Stick with stock exhaust?

Has anyone compared the slip-on termis to the stock open butterfly as far as sound? I'd do the slip ons if they arent much louder just to get better rideability and smoothness.

That full termi system sounded gorgeous

The thing with our vtwins is that it does not seem noisy when we are in the track or in the free way. I saw Troy Bayliss tracking the 1199 at full throttle in the track and it sounds docile and quiet. however when we are going home late at night , our bike seems very loud:confused: after parking your bike and relaxing in your house watching tv the neighbor will ring your door bell and say "dude , you woke my baby"

IMHO in the stock trim the bike is quiet as long as you rev it until 5,000rpm. beyond that the bike is very loud

I have - but it is only a subjective opinion and not based on proper noise testing equipment. Personally, I don't think that the Termis are a lot louder than the stock pipes, and I don't think they seem a lot louder than my 1198S was - however, the quality of the tone/timbre on the 1199 is quite different to the 1198S. The extra smoothness on fuelling is great, esp at lower revs in urban riding.

However, there are some threads on here about people taking their bikes to UK track days and getting caught out by the static noise tests. I seem to recall that the standard pipes were around 102db and the Termis around 107db.

But like Desmo observed in the previous post, prudence with the throttle, esp in urban areas, suggests you shouldn't have too much of an issue.

Just my two pence...

I'll keep the standard pipe. I like the noise level and tone - particularly the low to mid revs.

£2400 in the uk for full termis. I would rather have better rear sets and a holiday!

I have the full 70mm Termis fitted.
They do eradicate the bottom end lag reported by journos.
They are loud (deep loud) and its personal preference whether you like it or not. I do.
The look suits the bike IMO better than the standard pipes.
The screw in baffles do quieten it to a comparable level to the standard pipes at least below 5000rpm.
Is the full system worth it? Well as far as I am concerned, I am a Ducati owner (read Hedonist) not an economist - so Yes.

Just my opinion -helpful to some, thought provoking for others. Possiby, infuriating for the few - but hey.

Has anyone been able to compare the slipon vs. the fulls system - I have a Tri with the slips ons and have not heard the full system nor have I been able to get any performance stats on the 2.

I have a full Termi system (with DB Killers installed), I much prefer it over the stock pipes. There are plenty of technical data comparing the stock and Termi'. If your budget will cover the full Termi system I would get it.

$2,000 is a lot of money with little information to go on. I like the sound of the slipons but would love to hear the full system to make a comparison.

Ive had my base Panigale for a total of 2 days and 150 miles and I love the way it sounds. And after looking at the prices on ebay and everywhere else for a full system to me its a waste of money. The way this bike sounds is amazing. My suggestion...buy 2 $3.00 Termi stickers and toss them on each side....it saves you $1994 dollars to use on track time.

yep 1200 miles on mine, no interest in changing the stock pipes, sound is plenty good enough for me. I'd rather spend the $$ on the bsts!

This is the first bike I have ever owned that I'm happy with the stock pipes, they are awesome, all the Jap bikes I've had previously sounded like mopeds until I put a decent can on.
