Termignoni DB killer Removal

I do not notce the flapper thing. I guess it keeps the bike quieter at lower RPM, but a bike is quieter at a lower RPM. The aluminum shields still look similar to new. For 3 HP, and similar sound, I just can't see spending close to $2K for metal stickers, when I paid $10 for the paper ones :).

My stock pipes got really badly stained right where the chain passes over the rear end on the muffler.... Stock pipes are also incredibly heavy.. all in all I am happy with my choice but I do understand that the $1999 msrp is way too much for a slip on... I got a deal and self installed they made sense... to me... anyway... Bike is also smoother with this set up..but I will admit the updated ecu flash from last November and the 41T rear sprocket blurs the lines as to which "upgrade" is having the most effect....

But what about the sound? I think you really need to hear the 2 side by side, bst case, both accelarating away from you, on right after the other. The plain aluminum covers are the only desgn issue I have wth the bike, just can't bring myself spending almost as much as wheels to change. Maybe down the road get the Akra's, if they make a big difference. I'll spend 3.4k for looks/difference, before I will spned 2K for just looks.

Sound?? Well I ride with 2 other 1199's that have stock pipes... On full song the Termi is a lot more "Ducati sounding"... at Starbucks not so much...

Ducati sounding? Being my first Ducati, mine is Ducati sounding lol - that's part of the problem, coming from a long line of Ninja's and a Beemer, I already love this sound.

Then you are all set dude...:D

My old monster 796 had Termi's installed from Mile 0. It sounded like a Ducati.

The Pani's stock exhaust is close, but when the flapper would close, it would sound like I was riding a tractor.

Anyone that thinks that the Termi's on the Pani are just a subtle change are fooling themselves. At most RPMs the sound is amazingly different, and MUCH louder. (Louder than my 796 monsters termis... my ears were ringing after a 45 minute ride home from having them installed.

So to conclude, Termi's with DB killer is louder than stock?
I am having a little issue with how loud my stock exhaust is,
making me hard to take the Panigale to work in the morning without having to wake up
half my neighbors. Is there any solution to make the Panigale less loud? :(

I think this is the first time I have ever seen this question on a MC forum..:D

There's the Japanese version (which is hideous) and Austin Racing was working on a silencer for their system for low tolerance tracks. Seems like an expensive option if your only looking to reduce the noise level though.

Mine were ringing and my ass was hurting after the 45 minute ride home...stock! Ear plugs and the comfort seat were my first "mods":D

You had to ask, this is what Japan requires fitted to our Italian Supermodel...

A lot of people have posted about "riding through neighborhoods" "waking up people", etc. One person uses wet mode to traverse his neighborhood :)

Depending upon the size of your neighborhood, it might be more economical to mail everyone a pair of earplugs. Just a thought:cool:
