Tuneboy map feature for 1299 and Panigale R

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I've just received a Tuneboy kit for my 1299 and have read all documentation numerous times, but am having trouble getting the WB-01 module to connect via USB. The driver software for the WB-01 is supposed to be included, but that seems to be my issue because I get a "Please comnect WB-01 to PC and restart program" message every time i run the flash mitsubishi application. In the control panel, the WB-01 driver is missing. Does anyone know where this driver software is available? For reference I am using windows 8.

All that said, the wireless functionality of everything seems to be working fine and I could flash the bike wirelessly, but have read that it is recommended to flash via usb. Anyone successfully been flashing wirelessly without issue?

Yeah ive done it a number of times when playing around with the QS BlipH maps.

Its not ideal, but guess its said so you dont somehow brick your ECU when the wifi drops out during a re-flash. (this has happin to a friends car)

Yeah, that is why I am a bit hesitant to go the wifi route. I've got an email out to Wayne/Emma, so I'll see if they can steer me in the right direction with the usb driver.

I'll shoot you the drivers sometime tomorrow if I still have them. Pm me with your email.

the documentation is missing a few details, but the usb drivers for the WB-01 are installed when you install the LogWorks3Setup.exe which should be on the usb drive you received. If not then you can find it at (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/support.php)

Also you should probably check if you have the latest firmware/microcode for the WB-01, you can get the latest from tuneboy's website (Mitsubishi-Software-Download | Tuneboy)

Has anyone else had trouble with cruise control and the V6 software? Mine is nowhere near as accurate, fluctuates around 5-6mph. Considering returning to V5.

Yep, mine sometimes goes up and down by 5 mph, doesnt stay exactly at a set speed, which is useful! :D

I've emailed Tuneboy about it but I'm not sure a solution will be forthcoming unless others have the same problem.

Does anyone know if a tune file created on V6 will work on V5 software?

SPJ I have this issue a little bit with the CC, it differs a few km's per hour 1 to 3 km/h.
(It became better (less fluctuations) after a better trim file which I got from a good friend....)

Today I asked Emma the following:

If it is possible to let the cooling fan start the first time at 103 C (it is default like this) but then the second time during the ride to let the cooling fan start at a desired temperature at e.g 90 to 95 C.

The first time letting it start at 103 C would be convenient because any possible water vapor will have the chance to evaporate from the crank case.
But the second time I can regulate the temperature even better if the cooling fan would start at eg 90 C or 95 C, a make sense "settable" temp.
(By the way, sorry for being of topic)
Let us wait their answer.

Furthermore I minimized the kill time of the QS to 2/3 of the settings range, like you proposed, and that is a huge improvement, thanks!

I'd be interested in the answer to the fan start temp. I messaged Emma as well and for a while she was great at responding, but now I haven't heard anything from her in days.

Would love to get an update from Wayne on the iPhone app,
Been asking for this update for a while as it stopped working on my phone when I updated the iOS on it.

It was the greatest feature yet of Tuneboy,
Able to log, flash and apply trims from your phone,
I miss it and really need it as my laptop on my back keeps stopping due to normal hard drive locking because of the shocks during the ride...

Today I got an answer from Emma, apparently this is already programmed in the Tuneboy software, I will need to test this because I was not aware of it.
(Un)Fortunately I have to travel the coming days to the US.
See e mail below.

Hi Martin

That exactly what our mitsubishi maps do. Have you found one that is not doing that?

A setable temp would be good but Wayne does not have a way to do this yet.

I'm pleased to hear the new software is an improvement!

Best regards

Emma

Dear Emma,

Is it possible to let the cooling fan start the first time at 103 C (it is default like this) but then the second time during the ride to let the cooling fan start at a desired temp eg 90 or 95 C.

The first time letting it start at 103 C would be convenient because water vapor will evaporate from the cranck case.
But the second time I can regulate the temperature better if the cooling fan would start at eg 90 C.

Let me know your thoughts

Greetings Martin

Hi guys, would someone please tell me where I can find the Tuneboy app for IPhone/Ipad. Thanks.

Just a heads up for those interested. I never did get the pc to recognize the WB-01 driver despite numerous attempts, so I dug out the old laptop running windows vista and everything installed and worked as outlined in the manual.

On another note, I've got the new tune in the bike, but is the oil service indicator reset feature compatible with the 1299? I ran the trim program and attempted to reset the indicator but was unsuccessful. I read somewhere that a new trim file had to be loaded into the ECU to reset the oil service indicator, but I believe that was on a 1199...

Would anyone with experience loading Tuneboy cruise on a 2015 1299S and actually getting it to work please help me.
Loaded the software on laptop and had no real issues loading it onto the bike.
Cruise will not work.
After loading software, start the bike and pressing the start button 3-5 seconds I get a throttle blip. Go on a test ride and cannot get cruise to engage with start button or Aux+/-.
Shut bike off and retry, cannot get bike to blip throttle again confirming cruise enabled.
Cannot get any output from Aux+/- paddles.
Also cannot find the cruise preflight exe file anywhere to check input from clutch/brake switches.
Not sure what i'm missing/doing incorrectly and what the correct procedure for activating/engaging cruise on a 1299 is as all documents from Tuneboy are very vague.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You have to hold in the start button for about 3 seconds when riding and setting the cruise.

Has anyone managed to use Windows 10 and successfully connect via wifi to the tuneboy module and flash it?

For anyone who has attempted to use the autotune feature with the stock narrowband o2 sensors, does the bike need the OEM tune in the ecu for the sensors to be active and take readings? I gave it a go last week, but already had a tune loaded in the bike and the sensors did not seem to be responding...
