My dealer charges 50-75 bucks for changing one tire if I bring him the rim and a new tire (I never buy tires from the dealer: way too expensive).
He's got a supercool modern machine with all gimmicks, very smooth and if operated properly it never harms tire nor rim.

I always insist on being at the machine when the mechanic changes the tires. I intend to drive him crazy to be careful, cleaning up the machine clamps before he can start and impress him with my best FSB/KGB look I have.

Result: perfectly dynamically balanced rims and no scratches or nicks at all.

One time at the track I gave a Magnesium rim to an official professional from Pirelli Germany to change the tire. He completly ...... up the rim, even me standing next to him shouting loud to be careful! It took me 1 1/2 years to get a new rim payed by Pirelli. Now all my hair is gray. Their statement in the beginning was "it's normal that rims get scratched everywhere".

$0! I do it by hand, no fancy machine, just an old harbor freight bead breaker and tire irons. [emoji106]
