I'm about to receive my Upmap T800 and was going to buy the MTorque map, thinking it should make a huge difference in the 1st four gears (adding the 40 odd hp Ducati took away) - however Bill from Cali Moto TV says it is not worth the money - no real difference between the free map and the $200 MTorque... Is Upmap making a nonsense statement regarding Mtorque?
I have the mtorque and love it! Like a new bike.

Speaking of Moto GP, I am the same height as Marquez but can’t put 2 feet down (only very tippy toes). How do all those guys 2 foot their bikes? I think Pedrosa was like 5’ 4” or maybe that was Lorenzo.

They don't have both feet down. Watch them at start line, they slide side to side on the seat to get one foot or the other down. I think only Rossi and Petrucci are tall enough to get both feet down.

So, here's some new material. Sorry for Google translation.

On Saturday I was at Daniel Deussen's at the Beautiful Bodensee in Germany and we compared the T800 Mappings MTorque and Performance with the original mapping.

At a fluffy 10°C outside temperature, my beautiful duck was first penetrated with a drill
The measurements were then carried out one after the other.

Here are the results. Somewhat surprisingly, it originally produced a good 180 hp in 4th gear. It's only a little more leisurely up to about 5k, as you can see from the torque curve. After that, it's actually quite normal. As a Engine noob, I can't actually see a thrush here, can I?
I find the performance mapping here very strange, which doesn't even create 160PS and doesn't give a good picture in terms of torque either.
MTorque actually looks pretty good, a bit more power down, then about the same level in the middle of the speed, then from 8k there is a little more up to around 13k where the power then adjusts to the original level again.

In 6th gear, MTorque and Performance actually start quite well, but there is a heavy dent in both power at around 12.5k and torque at around 3-4k

All in all, I think that the results don't really meet my expectations. I can't see such a real throttle, at least in 4th gear. MTorque and Performance offer more torque at the bottom, but Performance in particular then drops off quite a bit. And the MTorque doesn't really look convincing to me either.
I haven't actually driven either MTorque or Performance so far, so I can't make a subjective impression against it.

Many thanks again to Daniel for the measurements and for always patiently explaining everything to a noob like me ‍

I installed MTorque and rode 220 km today. Both Lambdas disconnected. To keep this short, I am now having the same conclusion as Bill (Cali Moto TV)... not worth it! The so called added 40+ hp .... I did not find that. In 1st and 2nd the mapping is rough in slow traffic and the SF rides much worse than with the OEM map. Above 4000 rpm the bike is smoother and the slight "surge" I felt riding 130 km/h constant throttle (OEM map) is cured - it seems. Fuel consumption dropped from my previous avg of 15.6 km/l to 14 km/l. Will I recommend the UPMap / Morque conversion? No! Spend that money on fuel and enjoy the bike.

Thanks! Very good info and yes I also think this UpMap stuff is very expensive ........! But say this and you are ridiculed by the so called "fifty" that say it is fantastic!

No ridicule here. I found the bike quite smooth with mtorque down low and noticed the surge you mentioned in previous post. Personally I like it, personally you don’t, all good by me.

It’s not perfect by any means but it’s better that how the bike comes with the AKR map. If someone actually thinks they are going to get 40hp from this please let me know I have some .... I want to sell you. Lol it does remove some of the torque limits which is the main reason I originally went with it. But I wanted a custom tune for my specific bike and had that done with great results.

Pardon my ignorance but why was the dyno only done on 4th and 6th gear? Isn't torque limited on the first 3 gears on OEM map and that's where MTORQUE would be the biggest difference?

Where? Can I get your map?

There are different Gear groups in the control unit, 0-2, 3-4, 5-6. The curve should be equal in 5th and 6th gear. But you have less slip in the 6th. Same for 3rd and 4th, the reason why a measurement in the 3rd gear was not reliable is too much slip.

If my ecu was holding back 40 hp in 3rd and flash is supposed to correct that and my bike was on a dyno I would strap that bitch down and wanna have a look-see

I WISH my ecu would take 40 in 1st and second : )

News from the Dyno:

Blue: Original
Green: MTorque
Red: Cylinder-selective Tuning

V4-SF_Diagramm_Lauf 2.jpg

Statement from the Tuner:

As you can see in the diagram above, the MTORQUE has some weaknesses. Below 6000, the mixture is not so well tuned. The ignition is set incorrectly between 7000 and 8000 and above 13000.

What you cannot see in such a performance diagram is how an optimally adapted mixture has a positive effect on drivability. If all the cylinders run smoothly and are also set a little richer, then the engine is much nicer on the gas and reacts more spontaneously.

With Mtorque Map, the engine actually only runs a little richer in the partial load range, i.e. normal driving, when the lambda sensors are unplugged.

Mine was run in every gear but the chart is from 4th. I wanted to make sure all the restrictions were removed. That and the throttle were what I was re looking to improve. like Revan my tuner is also in the ECU.
