Anyone got some input on this ? I read the USA ZX 10R definitely has a different mapping (less power) compared to europe, as i've seen this

i was wondering if we are burdened with some differences, too?

Ducati NA seemed to have bypassed any/all sound laws, so I imagine they also skirted any sort of emissions requirements as well. Interesting find, though....

US Dyno charts could easily confirm a difference, though...

Different.

My tuner tried to load a euro ECU map on my U.S. ECU and it didn't work. Dash indicated the sidestand was deployed when it was not and of course the bike would not start.

I usually count four different ECUs.

The best one you can get is Europa.

Then, that would be US, although because of the different lightning scheme and the complex electrical circuit of the Panigale, problems like the one you had will be common. Also, will be less fast, hence the disappointing results you can have in the U.S.A.

Then, France, limited to 106bhp, but sound is as hard than the Europa ECU.

Then, Japan, which is also limited to 100 something – if I recall correctly – and also has stricter laws against noise and ecology.

All ECUs are physically the same, the change being all software. But you can't exchange software easily since physical changes are also made to the bikes depending on the countries (U.S.A. and Japan).

In France, bike is the same than Europa, just the software change which we usually upgrade to Europa software without any issues.

so i assume changing the hardware with the right software on it might be easier than changing the software ;) ?

I am not sure to understand your question.

As for Japan, physical change is usually made to the exhaust, in order to limit noise.

As for USA, I know there are a lot of changes made, and I dunno how far they went. But sure, it the only changes between an European bike and a U.S. one are some pieces you can change easily, you could then use an European software.

I have seen many people with U.S. Diavel using an European ECU without issues. But, once again, the Diavel electrical circuit is far simpler than the Panigale's one.

assuming the exhaust and the valve are the same, i just wanted to point out, that the swap of the ecu box (EU - with the EU software on it) would be easier than uploading the EU software with the mentioned errors (sidestand) to the existing US ecu.

but first of all we would need to find out if there really are differences and what they are (besides our assumptions)

I don't believe swapping ECUs will change anything, since they should be the same, excepted the software loaded into them.

They may have changed the exhaust, which might not be the biggest issue, and also some other things in the electrical circuit.

that's what i would be interested in, instead of tempting with the software itself

i detected a second slot for the cable attachment on the exhaust valve... don't think they weld in different catalytic converters...

so who from europe (except low power countries ) will send me his ECU ;) just kidding
