I'm fine with it stock with regard to the sound. Weight savings and performance gains are far more interesting to me. With akra being the only choice currently ($$$$$$), I'm happy as a clam with the stock exhaust lol.

I can't help but wonder if the stock 959 exhaust fits. That with a custom tune could be just the ticket if it's possible. At least it would get rid of the massive euro 5 cat that came from the factory without costing an arm and a leg.

If u went with a stock 959 exhaust, send it to PHL for modification and then get a custom tune. Maybe a nice used Akra slipon? It’s gonna be a lot louder tho

I feel like it has to if the Akra slipons r the same across 959, 1299 and V2?

how abt Vandemon?

Yeah I think it was the Ducati Spacers because I remember that jerky wup wa-wup-wa-wup-wup-wup. but I did the spacers before the exhaust. They were like $35. Easy to install.
I just ordered the spacers, so I guess I'll find out how effective they are at smoothing the off throttle response. Hopefully they help, because that'd be a cheap fix.

another user said u can just take the throttle part and reinstall the grip twist part 180 degrees from factory and all the slop is gone. But idk cause I got the spacers in

Do the spacers. I was blown away. Idk the bike seemed hard to ride when I got it. Dont remember where I saw or read about them. Really was the best power mod. Can't imagine with the exhaust on race mode with everything off would have been like without spacers. Felt like 10° of slop in there. Going over bumps on slow throttle was a nightmare.

That's the truth. My neighbors probably think I'm a total noob while I bounce around and the thing bucks and snorts while I try to go 20mph down my street.

The slop really does make it tough to tell where the throttle actually engages. I'm hoping the spacers make that a little easier to find.

Definitely will, get the kit with the screen protector too, I didn’t and a drop of DOT4 Etched my screen..
The other side of the throttle choppiness is the software, pay close attention after installing the spacers and see if it’s perfect of if it could still be improved cause u can always flash that bad girl

I got some crappy ones from MotoComposites. I’ll never buy anything from them again
The heel guards are very flexible and they’re prolly gonna crack off. I’m hard on my heel guards too, I use them to lock myself to the bike a bit and these ones don’t work. I’m thinking the DP ones will be better but also considering just getting some new rearsets setup for race shift
I have the DP heel Guards - Super Sturdy - Motocomposites.... Ive received some good stuff and some bad stuff. Mostly Good. The air duct covers / under seat heat shields for me so far are displeasing as far as fit and amount of time trying to make them fit.
They replaced both - with new designed stuff - so once i try those I can rate it again.
Other than that all the rest of the CF I have got from them was pretty good quality.

Motocomposites.

I think they fall short compared to how fullsix and Illemberger manufacture their carbon.

now I’m looking at rearsets, I wanna go reverse shift with them, unless I can do that with my stock rearsets, then I’ll flip it and get the DP guards

I'm running the map key that came with that Akra System.

Like I said - I haven't had all the CF makers to compare but most of the pieces that I did get from Motocomposites was pretty good - The engine cover and brake line cover are pretty sturdy and feel to be very well made.

I actually just posted a set of exhaust heat shields in 100%CF that feels and looks the same as DP grade in the classifieds.....

What is your opinion on the heat "issue"?
I can’t confirm or deny. It hasn’t been hot enough and I haven’t ridden enough to tell you that. In the few hundred miles I’ve run with it, I’ve had zero issues with heat. It’s also average 55° outside temp though.
I’ll update when I can gather some better intel.

It’s definitely better than not having it at all.
I like the look of it missing, but that heat must be treacherous!
