Guys, I was trying my best to wait for the R to come out but took the v4s for a test ride and couldn't resist. #56 will hold me over until the R arrives. Akra exhaust goes on in a couple weeks. Only 20 miles so far but the bike is amazing.
So here's the question - is it better than the FE with the full Akra race exhaust??
The FE with this system is ferocious. There is no other way to put it. Not just the sound, but also how quickly it spools up. It hits MUCH harder than the v4 and candidly harder than anything I've ever experienced. And then there is the sound...
The v4s by comparison sounds docile but is buttery smooth. Power delivery is linear and it pulls like a freight train up in the revs. The bike loves to rev and is very happy in the 8-12K range.
It's not a fair comparison since I'm taking it easy on the v4s and it's really restricted at the moment. However, my sense is that I'll be much quicker on the v4. It's so easy to ride fast. That being said, the FE feels more special. And to me, by a wide margin.
Both are beautiful bikes. Which one is prettier is in the eye of the beholder.
Sorry for all the pics, but wanted to fully capture the similarities and differences for those still trying to decide between the twin and new v4.
Cheers!
Kevin
