V4R or M1000RR

what can I say, Italians in Italy can give better pricing on Italy motorbike

Yeah, that’s great.

I guess I don’t understand how one forum member chest thumping about getting a better deal than anyone else helps anyone.

Probably just me. :)

I wouldnt even bother explaining all this is Karl didnt ask, so blame him. I'm eyeing m1000rr for next year

Actually once we on M1000RR

has anyone from this forum had luck testing upcoming 2025 BMW ?

a track mate told me this year, he was invited to Aragon (mid summer) to test 2025 prototype. I have no idea if this is true or not, hence asking people here.

The 2 most interesting bits from what he told me, 2025 model is :

- non-linear power delivery at the top
- vibrations are still there

Mmm, that’s one way to look at it.

Another would be that you bumped a 2 and a half year stale thread and asserted that a new, modded v4r was 45k. Because this is different than everyone else’s experience, Karl asked you about the pricing to ensure it wasn’t a typo or something.

If you re-read the thread, it might refresh your memory. Or not. All good either way. Enjoy your new m1000rr. Make sure you come back for a subtle flex to tell everyone about your special access pricing or how bummed you are about having to spend 70k on a second bike that’s better than a v4r. :)

Just re read it mate.

I came with a soft heart for BMW saying that price wise Alpha and V4R packages are identical.
Than silly americans begin to argue about pricing as most are dumb enough to accept MSRP as the real value.

Long story short here we are, damaging your aura before Portimao

I appreciate the thought. Thank you sincerely 🙏

Unfortunately, I’ve re-ruptured my left biceps tendon and am afraid I won’t be able to ride at all. Hopefully I’m wrong. Upside though - this thread is the lesser of evils damaging my aura. :)

Have you ridden Portimao?

Well that sucks. How bad is it? It's not like you use biceps on a motorbike but I guess arms need to flexible enough on both sides.

I did Portimao twice. One of my favorites.

I told Andy already, make sure to hit the cocktail bar at Bella Vista.
And also there is a very nice beach bar - NoSoloAgua

Damn bro that sucks, sorry to hear that, you seemed a bit cantankerous around here the last couple of days, now it makes sense, I’d be pretty salty too.

Everything happens in life for a reason though brother, something good will come out of it somewhere somewhen.

@panibadboy That sales tax rate you have makes the bike a nicer price… That’s one-third of the sales tax here, which they even wanted me to pay on a 17-year old bike that I imported because it had less than 6,000km (until it didn’t).

BTW, just watched video with control rider and tires. BMW 2 seconds faster then V4R with electronics off. That's a lot of time

It was vs V4S mate and as others said here that video is very lame

I don't get how people compare times of stock bikes without any setup at all

^ exactly! you remember the old video where a 2006 Gixxer 1K fully track prepped stomped the new 1199 on a track? (the 1199 was delivered from local dealership with zero prep)..the gixxer had slammed forks, track tires, and full suspension dialed in for the riders...

the 1199 didnt even come with the bikes toolkit!

2 seconds against the V4S which has more cc's and torque and Ohlins is still significant anyway you slice it. Bikes had suspension setup prior I read online.
If Neeves was riding I wouldn't care but rider wasn't a .... like some of the reviews.

Actually it was a Gixxer versus a V4S

I actually have both a K5 Gixxer that’s completely track prepped for racing, and a track setup V4S in my garage, and have ridden both back to back on the track.

The V4S is night and day better and different, most notably on turn in and back to back turns, the V4S is just MUCH more nimble, and it’s more savage on acceleration, but not by as much as you’d think…that Gixxer pulls hard, and is more smooth about it.
