Your OCD and attention to detail is amazing. How many hours do you think you will have put into this once it’s done? Has to be a couple hundred ?
Thanks. I really have no idea but yes quite a long way north of 200 hours.

It was not that long ago when Ducati used to actually give you a tool kit with each bike! (albeit a rather cheap and crude one).
No need for an anemic ”toolkit” when Ducati can offer complimentary roadside assistance when the bike is under warranty

I had one of the Evotech tails and the thing I hated about it was how the plate was sized for EU spec license plates. They give you these goofy awkward adapters which make the whole thing a train wreck to fit US plates.
I just ”fabbed” up a piece of aluminum bar stock (I think it was like 1/2” x 0.0625” thick) and that adapts and holds the US plate

Hey Topo, on the Cerakote. I just had a swingarm, valve covers and side cases done. I was told that there may be an issue with Cerakote and UV rays diminishing the color. Any thoughts?

I’m obviously no subject matter expert, but I thought one of the attributes of cerakote is uv stability. My track bike is at EDR for a build and we had the frame and swingarm cerakoted. There’s a wide range of coatings within the cerakote line - maybe some are more up stable than others?

Depends on the type of Cerkaote used. UV protection should be fine w C and V series

I can only speak from my own experience. I had the frame and swing arm on both my 1199 and 1299 Cerakoted. I had no visible issues on either of those bikes including all the other parts that were coated on them, so I'm not anticipating any problems with the V4. Then again we are not blessed with prolonged sunshine in the UK so that might account for something!

Bodywork is back, well almost all of it, the rest I will collect next week. In the meantime thought I would post up a short video before the panels finally go back on.

I thought I would hate the Cerakote’d swingarm but dang it looks good with that CF protector. Great thread!

Thanks for the comments. The magnesium colour is probably not everyone's cup of tea, but it does help to highlight components in a way that black never can, IMHO. It was always in my design brief to go down this route, to compliment other colours on the bike, which will be revealed as soon as I get the bodywork back together. Almost at the finishing post now, so not too much longer to wait.

Nice work.
I also like that Youtube pushes me a "watch next video" on 3D size comparisons of spaceships both real and sci-fi. hahaha It means your bike is other worldly.
I stopped on the highway coming home from the Alps Sunday, parked under one of those AutoGrill gas station shades to cool down a bit. A line of kids & teens came over from several different cars to stare & take videos of my 98% stock V4S with their eyes bugging out. It's fun to see people get excited. I can imagine yours is going to get some attention when you go outside.

Quick update, A lot has happened in the last few months. I got made redundant and thankfully recently found a new job, my painter broke his arm and ripped the sh*t out of his achilles tendon after a trackday, which delayed my bodywork by several months and I am currently dealing with my mother's terminal cancer, so all in all not the best of years. On the plus side I am hoping to complete the bike before Christmas, so stay tuned for some further updates and an unveiling video and of course some gratuitous photos of the bike with it's clothes on (at last!).

We’ll have a good thought for you and your mother here across the pond, and look forward to seeing the bike completed.

Sorry one and all, work and family bereavements have seriously swallowed up most of my time. However there is a light at the end of my build project tunnel and it's inching very very close to completion now. In the meantime, here is a sneak preview. I've set aside some time this week to take some pictures and compile a video which will follow on later.

Right then, here it is. Once again apologies for the protracted wait, but you know the story by now. Bereavements, redundancy and various other delays outside of my control. Incidentally this is my first foray into using a GoPro so don't expect a Blockbuster! This is very much a case of me dipping my toe into video production. By the way hopefully by the time you see this, Youtube will have processed the HD and 4K version but if not, it's still of an OK quality, albeit bar the shaky camera. I will post up all the high res images tomorrow. Enough hot air from me. Here is the link.......
