V4s won't start - brand new

Why was it at auction? Is there any evidence that it could start when it was at the auction house? Some places will start a bike or car to show it will start but not drive it.

Fresh gas in the tank and the lines?

Insurance auction, stolen and recovered I assume. No it wasn't listed as running, Vincheck didn't show anything wrong , except for minor scratch on a left side.
Gas fresh, pressure checked
Basically sparks, injectors and fuel pump pressure checked by dealer, now they are telling me it doesn't start because of MAP sensors I've installed from v2( even though I researched and it's the same manufacturer and part number on bikes from factory).
Kinda don't have confidence in dealers diagnostics

Dealership mechanics tend to shotgun parts at something since they're typically only doing warranty repairs.

I don't know how a bad MAP sensor wouldn't show up on a diagnostic test. IIRC, they only have three wires which are +5v, ground and signal. With a multimeter if you detect a short between +5v and signal, the sensor is bad.

A total guess on my part, have you checked the VIN for recalls? I assume its an older one...what model year is it?

It's a 2018 v4s, recalls performed 1 year ago, bike has only 400 miles...
At this point I have very little confidence at dealers work, will go there tomorrow , pressure then to show me actual spark on plugs, and maybe try to start it with injector cleaner sprayed into airbox

If your EVAP is removed, using the vacuum line which comes from the throttle bodies would allow you to spray starter fluid or the like into the box but I would be VERY careful here. Remove what is blocking that line and while the bike is being started spray some starter fluid into the line.

If there is fuel and spark getting to the cylinders something should happen.

You would just need to find the hose that comes from the throttle bodies. It will be near the water hoses.

The vacuum line for the EVAP has 4 fittings, one on each throttle body. They merge into one with a large plastic fitting then one hose runs to the purge valve on the EVAP.

Some pictures of the bike without the fairings might be helpful. Can you post a video of it trying to start?

That's the only pic I have as of right now, I will be picking it up from dealer tomorrow so I'll make more photos from all sides.

I understand what hose you are talking about

I have a stupid question though, where are injectors on this photo, I assume the are positioned on top of the throttle bodies, meaning here they are, right?

Here they are on top of throttle bodies, am I right?

Engine looks very dirty for 400 miles - has it been underwater or left in a bunch of rainstorms?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haven't been underwater to my knowledge, but I assume was sitting on auction lot in Texas for some time, since it had plenty of dust/sand all over fairings

Each cylinder has two injectors. One on-top of the throttle body and one above the throttle body mounted to the airbox.

Are there any signs that someone dissembled the engine? Tool marks on the bolts, missing parts etc?

I dont see any signs on the engine itself, as well doesn't look like airbox was removed, except for the fact it's damaged on the right side by the ecu, visible on the pic.

Handle bars were clearly removed, as all wiring from them was disconnected, front two MAP sensors were missing, and their pins were broken and stuck inside the hoses, fuel pump was disconnected.

Yeah, that's the way it came... clearly there is some damage there, although fairing and tank are intact. Kinda mystery how that happened to me

Ok... just took the bike from dealer home, they didn't start it, answers very, but overall there's a spark, no they didn't check injectors, didn't remove CPS , so I assume it's unchecked, although Mechanix told me you don't have to remove the sensor to check it.

Will try manually with injector cleaner at home

Ok , so far what I did myself:
- sparks check, 12.6 volts on a line
-injectors cleaned, didn't connect them back yet, they weren't spraying when I removed them, 12.6v on lines
-upom removing airbox found out braket for the motor which opens throttle is broken, fixed with a superglue until new part arrives, and attached it back where it belongs
-ground checked found 2 spots on the left and right side of the engine, correct me please if there are more
- sprayed starter fluid into the throttle bodies, bike coughed few times but didn't fire up
- MAP sensors voltage checked 5v, although when checking for cyl#4 bike was shutting down and restarting few times, any ideas what it might be???

After checking map sensors lines voltage bike stopped cranking, it doesn't respond to start button.

Any ideas why? Any recommendations what should I check next?

Is the battery dead? Lithium batteries go from working to dead without warning. The voltage dropoff is sudden.

That's an amazing amount of dirt on an injector with 400 miles. Did you clean all 8 of them; 4 on the airbox and 4 at the throttle bodies?

I'd also take a look at the air filter considering how dirty the bike and the injector is.
