Just curious, for those of you that "prefer the torque of the V twin", how often do you pin the throttle just for midrange to utilize "all the torque"? It's not like the v4 has a 600cc torque curve where you'd have to downshift... Just open the throttle slightly more. I know when I do pin the throttle I'm going all the way to redline where the v4 would shine.
That's the point. We are talking about under 8k. Just twist the throttle a bit more on the v4?That's the point, though, how often are you going to take your V4 to redline on the street? The L twin is a more street friendly powerband imo, it has far more torque below 8k
You may be right. Just playing devils advocate here. Would love to try it out for myself when it gets here. It's not a "bit" more - the V4 (and inline 4s) make their best power well above 8k - great for the track, not as great for the street. Compare the torque curves.
As a new Duc/V4 owner to be thoughts and trouble areas to look out for cheers ride safeI haven't heard or read a bad thing yet about this bike. All very consistent reviews with same comments of amazement. I'd like to see more "user" reviews as bikes get in private citizen's hands. But what a machine. Gonna give it a year. Had a '12 1199. Never had much luck with first year bikes so I am waiting until 2019.
