I honestly don't care how much easier to ride it is over the 1299. The only way I'd buy one is if they fixed 2 things. 1) It it as hot as my 1299? 2) More importantly, do the bars vibrate as much as the 1299?

I might get a used one in a couple of years but the torque curve of the 1299 still towers over the V4, and that's what I use on the street - no need to rev to the moon. With that said, I have no doubt the V4 is a better track weapon and will run faster lap times, likely by a significant margin.

I might add paying $30k for a motorcycle is kind of crazy unless you're rolling in cash, and I'm having too much fun with stocks right now anyway.

Just curious, for those of you that "prefer the torque of the V twin", how often do you pin the throttle just for midrange to utilize "all the torque"? It's not like the v4 has a 600cc torque curve where you'd have to downshift... Just open the throttle slightly more. I know when I do pin the throttle I'm going all the way to redline where the v4 would shine.

Not disagreeing with you, just curious. I love my twin to death and I'm not selling it either.

That's true...91 ft/lbs better than all other literbikes..Wait to ride it before you jump to conclusions...Can't ride the bike on your computer mate...

Very often full throttle. At least between 4 and 7k, over 7k it's hard to use the full torque on country roads with 15/41 final gearing.

Not from Valencia, but a real world street ride review. Well... Not really a "review", more like "commentary".

Finally a review from a non racer/mag person visiting a Duc Dealership! Fantastic, Thank you. I am keen to see a similar review of the V4 to see it its any less street compliant without the electronic susp bits.

Lots of talk about the S, no mention of the base in the reviews .
The BP forks on the base are pretty decent. Rephrase , track decent.
The rear shock is questionable.
So the question is, go base with ohlins cartridges and ttx shock plus set of carbon wheels ?
Or spring for the S ?
First option will be a better handling package me thinks ?
Opinions ?

Go first the Base unless you like the wheels. I'm going for the base due to equipping my future base with OZ GASS wheels and buying ohlins later when I'm skilled enough to notice the difference.

What will the OZ GASS wheels cost?
