What are you paying for Insurance?

I didn’t know what an umbrella policy was until my lawyer explained it to me

Too bad the only people that have one are people that could actually pay off the hospital’s and doctors if sued : )

My own fault for thinking I had 100% thru my work. Now I know exactly what I have and how it works. Hope you do too. Just in case

Did you sue her for the $300k? I got hit by an uninsured drive (fortunately was in my car). What a pain.

Single mom in a hurry to pick her daughter up. Beat up Honda car turns left in front of me to cut 3 mins off her day care bill.
Yeah Kevin, why wasn’t she one of the million doctors driving around here? Would be building a V4R instead of my 14. They say I flew really high and really far. Broke more than 15 bones almost lost my leg. Worst part was that I hit the curb with my neck/head/shoulder. Woke up in a parking lot. Paralyzed. Was sure my neck was broke and that I was gonna die when emt removed my helmet. Was sure of it. Was glad I didn’t but pissed at lady. But no, ya can’t get blood outta a turnip. My new helmet:

I didn't think paramedics and EMT removed helmets unless there was an obvious airway obstruction.

I woke up right before they got there. Told em my neck was broke. Dude said, how do you know? “Cuz I can’t move anything below it and my neck hurts really bad”

I guess if were broke the helmet was gonna have to come off sooner or later?

Eventually it will have to be removed but there's no real reason to remove a helmet post crash unless the person isn't getting air or has an obvious injury which needs to be addressed to prevent the loss of life.

Protocols for EMTs and paramedics will depend on their jurisdiction and medical director.

$245 USD/year for my '21 Streetfighter. 44yo Male, No incidents (USAA/Progressive)

Prior military insurance rates with USAA. Boot camp had to be worth something ! Haha :)

I guess mine is a lot more expensive than most. However, I carry uninsured motorist protection (you need it in Texas because they are tons of uninsured, illegal drivers who don't even have a license) and triple the default payout. Why? Because I know several guys on other motorcycle forums who went for a life flight and found out the hard way insurance will usually only cover a fraction of the costs. One dude got a $50k life flight bill in addition to $50k in medical expenses. Common insurance in the US only covers you for ~$30k total, so this guy is on the hook for $70k after his insurance payed out. Ouch!

I didn't think things like that happened very often, but after that post went up numerous other people chimed in with similar horror stories. I'd rather pay a higher premium and have the protection.

Oh yeah

I would love to see that

No one fast around here is on a twin

Keep smokin em man

Purdy sure they were taking about insurance for their street bikes

$50/month. Never had a speeding ticket or an at fault accident. 32 years old as of today.

haha. Well, went for a 30 minute ride today after doing the break in oil change. Came home, parked the bike, started working on my R1. When I was done I started to do the bike shuffle to put the R1 back in its place. Well, I grab the streetfighter's clutch and attempt to roll the bike and it did not want to move. Felt like i was fighting rear brake drag. I'm assuming I'm getting the infamous clutch fade?
