Went to parking garage and started it, after its been sitting for almost three months. Fired up ok, the display has error lights lit up....so I rode around my parking garage a bit to clear them out and get some charge to the battery...I did not have a tender on it. Then back to sleep till we get a warm day in February so I can ride it a bit.

If you're in DC, you might get some snow tonight.

This weekend I started to convert the suspension on my race Pani.

Switching from electronics to mechanical setup with brand new Oehlins cartridges.

The bike is from 2012 (my beloved Tricolore). I never did any service to the forks. Fork worked well I thought and I never had it leaking.

Wow, I was shocked! Instead of some hydraulic fluid, the only thing left in the forks was some black squishy stuff. And one of the tubes threaded into the fork feet was rusty at the thread. It took me hours to get the foot off.

Conclusion: Do the fork service on the Panigale regularly!

Next things: new triple clamp and tappered roller bearings...

new triple clamp is pure sex.

Yes, my GT350 just got its new motor....but I don't want to go get it and drive it back in the snow. Sunday it might be 55, so if it is I'll take a Panni out for some fresh gas. It started right up, my Porsches would go to sleep sitting that long and you had to go through some weird key sequence to wake them back up.

How do you find the Tricolore compared to the 1299? Do they both have many mods? besides plenty of Ti :)

Sorry, I can't compare it. My two 1199's are about 163kg with oil, water and a bit of fuel. They behave more aggressive and nervous than my 1299S. I like that.
I am an old fart and I like being suprised and slightly frightened by my bikes while riding them. Makes me feel younger :)

But I can imagine that someone skilled riding bikes is way faster on the 1299S than with my old overweighted antiques :)

After watching some Super Bowl went out to the workshop and

put on a new wheel and tyre. While I had the wheel off I cleaned up the sprocket area.

What chain and sprocket is that? Looks like the carrier is stock?

Looks clean!!!

That's because I cleaned it LOL. It is a mixture of parts. Nothing is OEM. Not even the cush drives. Some of it I got from Sprocket Centre. It is a conversion to 41 Teeth and 520. I think it is DID chain and cannot remember sprocket but will look tomorrow and post back. :)

I meant clean... Very nice :D

yesterday.......

- Brake and clutch fluid flush and front EBC HH pads
- Engine oil and filter
- Replaced the tank extension and grip the other one flew off on the hwy while on the back of the ute :(
- Pulled the front rotors and tidied them up a bit after roughing em up to fit the BSB wheel on. and re balanced
- Chain tension and general bolt check with a look about, I like looking at these very pretty

today.......

- SC1 for the back and a well needed real good clean up

Tifosi

The gold nuts are Pro Bolt. (Which I will replace one day with Proti)

The 48mm Axle nut is Titanium CNC Racing

The on the cush drives are Titanium CNC Racing

The flange is CNC Racing, in Aluminium. (You can buy a Ti one but I think it is heavier and is over $1000 USD)

Rear sprocket is AFAM alloy Part number 51804R - 41 (41 teeth)

Front sprocket is AFAM Steet drilled 5290R - 15 (15 teeth)

The gold carrier came from Sprocket Centre with polyurethane cush drives which they pressed in prior to shipping. It was an option. They are lighter as there is no metal cap.

You just have to be careful with thread size differences between cush drive and the CNC Racing Ti nuts. The OEM cush drives have a 1.0mm thread. The CNC Racing Ti have 1.0mm thread but the polyurethane cush drives from sprocket centre were 1.25mm. So I just rethreaded the CNC nuts and it has worked fine.

Good tyre choice with your track day coming up. That is what I just had fitted to front and rear magnesiums. May get the front wheel on today

Guys I'm in awe... how do you all keep everything so CLEAN!?!? I can scrub all I want, I never get the clean look I keep seeing in this thread. What's the secret?
