What was your first Ducati?

My first Ducati was a 2000 748, yellow and white, monoposto. I loved it and sold it in 2005 when I started my own business, thinking I would not have the time to ride. Turns out I have more time now then I ever had working for someone else. Here we come 1199 panigale s tricolore!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first Ducati was the 848 in Pearl White. I had just taken the MSF course and got my license to ride but had never been outside of a parking lot. Against the advice of dealer I changed my mind on the Monster 696 and bought the 848. That first ride home on it was about an hour across the bridge and through the city. Looking back that was the stupidest thing I've ever done LOL. But just seeing the 848 in Pearl White all clean on the show room floor impaired my judgement :) Even though I've had numerous issues with the 848 - the bike stalling at stop lights, the radiator breaking down and leaking and a crack in the engine casing, warranty replacement of the battery which died even on the tender - I am in love with Ducati.
Interestingly enough my 1198 is absolutely problem free :D

Awesome to hear about your trouble free 1198 they must have figured things out. LOL I'm glad to hear you love Ducati as I do myself my first was the 749D and now I also own an 800ss race bike I will be posting pictures soon. I hope you continue loving Ducati because I feel it's one of the best Machines out there. I am probably going to eventually get the 1199 was actually thinking about the MV Agusta 312 1078. But now the 1199 has finally arrived.Keep in touch if you like. I am Hawkeye Hzyan on Face Book.

748SPS was mine. Loved that bike and arguably sounded the best of all those I have owned so far. Have a hankering to restore a 250 Desmo single cylinder bike, assuming I can find a good example. Also lusting after an 1199S ABS, which I want to convert to an 1199SPS paint scheme, white numberboards, gold pinstriping and marchesini gold wheels.

Ohhh my first...Ducati Blood Red 2000 996s, with fast by Ferracci Forza Carbon Fiber exhaust, custom paint, carbon fiber bits on the clutch, key guard, etc. What perfection, what inspiration, what a sad day when she had to leave.

my first was a red 2002 748, loved it so much i picked up a yellow 2002 998. i hope i'll be picking up the 1199 S.

My first was my dream bike purchased in November, 2002, a Ducati 998. I'm still riding it today along with a 2009 1198.

My first Duc was a 2011 1198 (base model), then a 916. Considering the 1199, but am loosing one of my 3 jobs and wife is loosing hers. Parted out the 916, and will focus on the 1198. Also, Sedici, you sound like Joe!? ;-) Norm.

Well, in my minds-eye my first will always be the 916 generation, even if I end up with a Monster first. Shoot I almost got a 749 at one point. As a child (still a child) she just captured my heart and mind. When my RC51 was prematurely taken from me, I had retaliated with going forward with my Ducati dreams the following week.

I drove like a bat out of hell all the way to upstate New York to claim my used yellow 996 (so I did end-up with a 916 generation Ducati after all). She was not in the best example, nor was she problem-free but I felt great finally living the dream.

Yes, I kept my bike in my messy ... basement (many moons ago).
