What was your first Ducati?

CBR 600 F2, Fireblade RRS, Ducati 996S, Ducati996R, Ducati 998R, MV 312RR.......1199s ( I hope).

Loved the Fireblade, the 996R and the 998R. CBR600 was a starter bike, the 6S alright, the MV not as good as it should be.

My first Ducati, which changed me for life, was a 1994 900 SS SP. I really tried to find an 888 SPO, but with no luck.

I traded my 1993 Honda CBR900RR in on it. Wow! I will never forget that bike, it sucks that it wound up scraped and parted out. I got to see it laying on it's side on a trailer this past summer, really sucked. 4 owners later and parted out.
 
After a stab at a racing career in that lasted from the mid 80's to the late 90's there were 10 years of nothingness.
Then came the '08 Hyper S. Loved the ride, the looks an the attention, but the poor thing was too tame.
The 1199 will change that but I already miss the 2valve air-cooled rumble.

my first Ducati the 848 EVO after the first ride i wanted to burn it , was so disappointed in the power , but with termi's fitted gearing change and re map its seams ok still not what i was expecting but i had it on track yesterday and it seams ok , a long way from a race bike but still a lot of fun .
i am ordering the 1199 in race track trim so i hope it lives up to all the hype it was either that or ex BSB - AMA superbike

Personally, I think if you're used to the power of a 1198 or a liter bike an 848 just doesn't cut it.

I just wouldn't buy one. :rolleyes:

yes i think your right , but reading the spec i thought it would have felt like my old R1 race bike but not even close .

i guess i am used to Riding the RC8R then i hoped on the 848 as was very let down , should have gone for the 1198 oh well looks like 1199 is in order

by the way the KTM is lots of fun to ride :D:D

First Duc was a 916 - struck me as the most beautiful bike at the time and even today is amazing to look at.

I have a deposit on a Tricolore and will have this one forever.

I was a little disappointed in the 1997 996 SP. :mad:
Currently I own 5 Ducati's and making room for a Panigale S Tricolore.. :D

Thanks, I have since sold the 848 Evo, Making room for the 1199.
Wife says only 5 Ducati's are allowed !! (damn her ) :p
 
The 1199 will be my first Ducati, in fact it will be my first ever twin! done all the 1000cc IL4,s and i currently ride a speed triple which has the best sound on the overrun, i always said my last proper sports bike would either be an MV or Ducati and this will be it!
