where to pickup the rpms for dyno tuning?

i checked the search and found nothing.

on another forum it said on the left side close to the battery. :confused:

which wire exactly.
 
I guess you could use a timing light pickup on the spark leads, but what are you trying to do ? Normally rpm is displayed by Tuneboy trim which receives it via CAN message from the ECU.
 
It's for a dyno pickup line to display the torque
 
Go to the left side and find the coil, I believe it is the front cylinder coil but not sure. Anyways trim back the wire loom around the coil connector so you can see the wires there. There should only be two wires. Clip around one of them and make sure the tach on the dyno screen is working. If the tach is erratic at high RPM then clip around the other wire. One wire works better then the other.
