It will be, deposit placed, for the S+ABS+full exhaust. Should be fun.

I'll go for the standard + ABS.
-Looks cool with the Marzzochi, the colour blends well with the magnesium bits and dark parts.

-possible upgrades will be termis and TTX rear shock (only if the Sach is really really really bad...).

The video explaining the 1199 merits by Troy and Ernesto is interesting.Though the forks on the super-stock tested by Troy in the scene seems pretty different from that seen from 2011 Eicma photos.Occasional scenes also show ducati riders sampling the Marzzochi and sachs.....certainly track worthy........

All I know is Ducati made two versions of the headlights on the 1199... one with and one without integrated LED headlights. The Standard 1199 comes without the LED headlights, and the 1199 S and 1199 Tricolore come with the LED headlights.

Where is the S behind the panigale, thought this is std with upgraded carbon?

is it just me?

The 1199's eyes and nose tip seems to remind me of the streetfighter's..
Maybe Damien Basset and Gianandrea Fabbro were exchanging some napkin drawings while lunch at Ducati cafeteria...

Im leaning towards the standard. Only because price. What kind of out the door prices are you guys getting. I live in jersey and i was quoted $19,900 after taxes and dealer fees. thats for the standard.

I don't believe there are any deals at this point. I paid list for my order (not interested to haggle over a few hundred bucks). Give a call to Jack Trebour, as I believe the US list for the standard is $17,999 plus $495 freight. Some places charge $200-500 to set the bike up, but Trebour is not charging me for that.

Good luck.

Hey all, newbie here and the 1199 will be my first Ducati, currently riding a 2011 Yamaha R1 which i love and will be keeping when my 1199 arrives......oh yeah im getting the Tricolore!!!

Sean why are you deciding to buy a Ducati now?

I rode my friends 1098s last year and and loved it but decided to bye the R1 as i love Yamahas and the sound of the R1 but when i seen the 1199 i just felt i needed to get one :)

Riding any of these bikes to the limit is impossible on the street. That's not the point of owning new technology.
 Best speak for yourself on that one herby! new technology is fundamentally there to aid and enhance riding ability and the result of this can be travelling faster A to B if you choose to..

If I am going to do this thing, it will be the Tricolore. If my 1098S sells that is. It will be for the street as I already have my 1040 as a track bike. Can't wait!

my d16rr and my 95 900cr and 10 other bikes burned up in the bastrop wild fire but I am really liking the tri .

Sorry to hear that...no fire insurance cover? or this natural disaster game...
Glad the TRI gives you something to look forward too...

1199 S tricolore I'm supposed to be #1 on list And yes I'm keeping my 1198 SP..

Base model for me. Heard the Marzocchi/Sachs combo is going to be quite good.
When I got my Hyper, I went for the S and tricked it out some more, now I'll be lucky to get 1k$ more than a stock base model of the same year.
The plan now is to get a base model, ride it as is and get a new one in 2014

Placed my order for standard+abs.the bike gonna be here in uae in june.:)

Why Choose Tricolore

Well I ordered a Tricolore, why ? If you work hard you can find that you can justify almost anything, my reasoning was:- Termi's, DDA, ABS and Tri Colour all standard kit add those elements up if they were extras on an "S" and then it makes more sense, plus the limited production run of the Tricolore. I hear the Tricolore is limited to just 4 months production only. How true that is and what that relates to in numbers terms I have no idea. Last point you only live once so live it.

ordered the S. Get all the bits and pieces which are worth it. Going to do a few track days and you only live once. Wondering how much the DDA+ is. might add that in. Understanding how your bike works is priceless...wonder if theyll ever get the telemetry for the suspension..

..also the lil lady says the S looks heaps better than the standard...can't argue with that.

suspension telemetry is available for the 1199 from ducati: clicky superstock DDA
Oh yeah - it's $4000.00 US!

aside from slightly different black wheels and gold forks I don't see how the S looks any different than the standard?
