Hello people!
Tell me what you think; I'm planning on wrapping my 1199 so it looks like a 1199 Superleggera. Also changing to March rims, some more carbon, remove mirrors etc. The wrapping company has the exact color, and they can do it in 3-4 days.

But could the Ducati dealer be pissed off when I show up there to buy something or for service? That I made my "standard" 1199 look like their flagship bike? Would they see it as negative publicity for the real SL?

Thanks for any input.

It s your bike . You can set fire to it if you want to :)

Dealers see this all the time .

So as long as you don t do that to their demobike , you ll be just fine .. :)

It's just that I'm pretty close with the dealer in Bangkok, don't want to get on the wrong foot with them.

Not a fan of making bikes/cars something they are not. Kind of like the people putting m badges on non m cars. But it's your bike.

your bike, you can do whatever you like with it. . In the states it would be a "poser", but I think the least of your worries would be a dealer that you are "close to". . It's the same people who buy a Mercedes and put "AMG" on it or something.

I think it would be cool to do some of the SBK paint/graphic kits vs making a fake SL. The people that would even know what an SL is probably wouldn't appreciate the replication and those that don't would think that an SBK would look sick

It's your bike. Why would you care what anyone thinks? Whomever doesn't like it, I would have two words, .... You!!!

Silly to even think he wouldnt be happy. Enjoy it how you like it bud.

Dont understand why, but is you bike.. You can wrap whatever you like...(like this man with his 996....)

Does the dealer care about you as much as you care about them? If they care about you to give you your bike for free then I'd consider them when wrapping it. It's your money and your bike.

But I echo the sentiments above...not a fan of making it look like something its not. But again, I didn't pay for your bike either.

Go for it, life is short and looks are everything, besides the difference on a stop watch between a base and an sl with an average rider over the same stretch of road could hardly justify the price disparity.

Do it like sl but not exactly like it. My wife gave me sticker kit from carbon works will try and post pic when I get it on. There a few kits out for panigale. Try them or westickers.

Your money, your bike. Personally, I wouldn't do it like the SL's scheme exactly... you could make a similar scheme that perhaps look even better and nobody would claim you're posing that you have an SL. Maybe wait to see what Ducati's '14 MotoGP or WSBK livery looks like and make something based off that?

Thanks guys, wrapping it is then but maybe another scheme. I'll look around a bit for an easy job, will post here later when done.

Are there any rims out there that color wise look same as on the SL, bronze-ish? Something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I was gonna go for the Marchesini M10RS Corse, but they are quite bright gold in color.

That keyhole on the SL Seat makes it looks sick man! :) Heck, the SL as a whole looks sick, down to the last detail..
