Wrapping my 1199 to Superleggera

I think if someone digs the paint scheme and wants to make it look like that thats cool.
As along as they don't try and represent it as the SL I see no foul in it.
It's a great looking paint scheme!
Besides I'm a to each his own person.
Your bike, make it how you want.

I agree its the OP's wish and right to do what he feels like.. when people see that paint scheme they will for sure think it to be an SL cos that color is unique to that bike.

If I was getting an SL, I would do what the OP is doing for the sole purpose of not using the carbon fiber fairing cos it would be really time consuming to replace that in case of damage even if it is covered by insurance due to the way Ducati handle part replacements..

It can be helpful to consider that it is practically impossible to replicate a SL...carbon fairings (possible)...full Titan akra (possible)...marchesini magnesium wheels (I'm not sure if they are available)...rear suspension made by titanium, including the spring (I'm pretty sure that if it is possible..it is very expensive)..
The SL (that I had the opportunity to admire during a private show in Bologna)...is unique and amazing

The white is same but red not!!!
And Wheel not same too so...
If someone say he mistake mine with superleggera,he is a noob!!!

they shouldn't care. It's your bike. Better yet if it looks good they may give you a (job well done.) and a slap on the back.

What are you saying?
I'm sure after building 500 examples, they'd have an adequate spares inventory.
If due to the uniqueness, I'm sure most owners could forgive any time in replacement parts.

Part and parcel of the bike.

I know a guy who buys a knock of version of each of his expensive
watches. So he can daily wear his watch. Turns out he never really wears the real one. Why bother.

Why bother buying the real one if youre just going to wear the fake? This makes no sense to me. That's like walking around with a wallet full of monopoly money and telling people, "its ok, I have real money at home"

I not copy a bike..but rather create something of your own, and then other ppl will want to copy YOU! :D

I know. He thinks he's getting better wear of his watches.

I'm not much of a fan of knockoffs.

When I purchased my Pani R, I had ordered a lot of DP accessories up front along with the bike especially things like the seat etc..

Its been 4 months and there is no sign of the seat. My dealer says that Ducati has a huge backlog in terms of part shipments.

I agree it doesn't make sense to not have the original carbon fiber fairings on but this inexplicable delay in part shipping is something I just don't understand.. if such is the case with a regular model itself, I can only imagine the wait for SL parts.. people who owned the Desmosedici RR or know the wait for parts on that will understand

Personally I think its a bit lame to make it look exactly like something that isn't that is "in-line". You're posing at that point to be something you aren't because you don't have it, can't afford it, or whatever. .

I'm all for making it look like a MotoGP bike, a WSBK bike, a whatever - including the exact same colorway. But if you're entire reason for changing a bike to make it look like the more expensive big brother or something screams lame to me.

I mean at least the rice rockets that people modify have a distinct different style (however gaudy it is). . I guess its also like the difference between those who are truly rich and those who want to pretend to be. I know people who are wealthy beyond belief and they strip the numbers off the car (like taking the S600AMG banner off the car, and then those who want to look rich who aren't and who make sure they take the smaller number off and put a S600AMG badge on. As I said - its your bike, you are free to do what you want just as every one of us is free to feel how we feel. .

Well said. S600 AMG doesn't exist btw. anyone with that badge is a poser...rich or not. AMGs have two digits after the letter. S65, S55, S63, etc. Just FYI in the future.

Source. AMG and benz owner for 14 years.

I think the W220s had an AMG Appearance package as an option, maybe that's what he is referring to.

Source. Porsche owner for 30 years that knows how to use Google.

Indeed all benz models can be purchased with amg bumpers and wheels, but the only ones that sport an AMG badge from the factory are the full AMG models (interior, engine, brakes, bumpers, exhausts, etc) . All others are fakes.

Wasn't trying to split hairs...just letting him know. Ive been an amg fan for many years, and fakes irritate the crap out of me.

Back on topic :)

No need to let me know. . I'm just expressing a point of people who have a S500/S550/S600 and they put an AMG badge on it. . I'm well aware of the AMG line as I've owned several. My list of AMG's that I've owned include the CLK55, ML55, E55, and S65. . . Currently no MB's in the garage.

Look in picture thread you will see mine, page 74
I dont see your bike or post there at all.

Edit:
Just found it by looking thru your posts.Stripe is fine but not the same red as the SL.In person its more of a neon orange.
