so I have a burning desire to mod the 1199
I have already done a quite a bit but I just can't stop

Which would you get
A set of bst carbon wheels or an akra slip on?
Let's put it to a vote

I had to make this choice recently…
I have a full term system but then wanted to get either the Full Akra or Carbon wheels..

Went with the Carbon wheels and I'm happy I did…

BST's will be better bang for the buck if you have base wheels. I always ask myself the same question and I think I would go for the Akra lol

What is your purpose/use for the bike?

If you race it, the wheels will improve every function of the bike (acceleration, braking, direction changes, top speed).

Aftermarket wheels won't help anything on the street. They won't get you to the store or gas station any quicker.

On the street, the exhaust will look better and sound better.

Are carbon fiber wheels legal to race anywhere?

They aren't here.

What do you mean by "here"?

They are legal to race in WERA. Ive been racing with CF wheels on my 675 since 2009.

cmra.

aa) carbon fiber and non-metal composite wheels are prohibited for all purposes for all categories and all classes. Whenever the term “wheel”, “any wheel” or “any wheel type” is used in this rule book it shall mean a hub, spoke and rim assembly constructed of steel and/or aluminum and/or magnesium.

I have stock panigale wheels
I ride on the street but want to track

Seems like everyone is kinda split down the middle

You can always go on ebay and select and number of 1098 1099 wheels that'll look great AND get the Akra... You have to shell out a little for the rotor adaptors but no biggie..

Can't believe a new full akra is just €2500. That would be my obvious choice. Wheels can always come later.

i would go full akra with a tune, the mid-range improvement in torque is worth the cost!

transforms the bike in my opinion

Ok i would be all over this...Personally not a fan of BST/Rotobox from a visual standpoint on Ducati's. Obviously they would be immensely noticable over base wheels, how much so over the S wheels not so sure, they are LIGHT!
