Thanks mate Yes all I want to do is lower the gear lever angle, sorry I didn't explain myself clearly in my last post, , I will try and get some skinny spanners if you think that will help. sorry for the following stupid question, but do I just put a spanner on part 9 to hold it tight and then put force on nut 10 to loosen it to allow me to adjust the lever angle, once nut 10 is broken free I take it all I need to do to lower the lever is screw in / out part 9 and then re tighten nut 10 to hold it in place, I only ask as I put a lot of force on nut 10 in the past and started to round off the nut and I thought I was going to bend something so I stopped, I just want to make sure before I attempt it again, thanks for all your help buddy
So I get your question. Nut 10 is what I call a jam nut. It may be easier to gain access to everything if you remove bolt 11. Also you can remove the entire assembly 9 as a group and then put this in a vise to get everything apart. Top tip. If you go this route remove the zip ties holding the quick shifter wires so you can lower the linkage once bolt 11 is off and it allows for better tool access.

I have just tried to adjust it, I removed the fairing, I managed to loosened nut 10 and the tried to turn rod 9 but I couldn't get the rod to turn as I was to scared to put loads of pressure on it to get it to turn, I then went on to I attempt to remove the rear set as you suggested to get to bolt 11 but I couldn't get one of the rear set bolts out and again as I didn't want to apply too much pressure just incase I snapped a bolt, what a nightmare the manual just says the following in the 2nd diagram which doesn't work as i cant turn rod A in the diagram 2 below.

i did break off my allen tool when trying to get the bolt off from the rearsets. Thankfully it was not the bolt when that happened. i used a quality allen wrench and they do pop off but its unnerving. Item one in Fig 197 has locktite on it so it turns with some amount of effort. so those skinny wrenches are required to use point A. This whole process took a few days to figure things out without breaking stuff. once you get the rearsets off, pull the zip ties off so you can adjust more easily.

See pic below.

Thanks once again, so you are saying best way to adjust the gear lever height is to remove the bolts ive marked with the red arrows which if I'm right will in turn allow me to slightly move the rear set away from the bike to gain access to the Allen bolt ive marked in green, once i remove this Allen bolt it should allow me to turn in / out the ball joint part to adjust the lever height and once adjusted just re assemble afterwards, I tried this method but I couldn't get the top bolt out on the rear set, I didn't have enough balls to try too hard so gave up, wimp, I will try again in the next few days, thanks for all your advice, I cant afford to replace anything else, ive just broken a mirror whilst moving the bike in the garage which is on order at £147, don't know when ill get it as I was told nothing is coming out of
Italy due to the Corona Virus

yeah.... if you can't reach the green bolt with the tools you have then i believe you do not have other option.

I guess I need to change the fluid in the rear brake reservoir

Haha I’m just messing around, glad to see that you’re getting some great riding time!

I think the authorities have advised us that Motul DOT5.1 is the way to go now, but I’m sure all the RBF660 salesmen will tell u that’s the way to go

the Castrol DOT4 they provide at my local Ducati dealer doesn’t stay gold and beautiful for very long
