Added my last piece of bling for the year I think. Famous last words I know.

Just think it needs a clutch cover. bike looks unfinished without something

Bike looks fantastic, congrats!

By the way, safety wire should be on the other side of the spring clip. If the oil cap starts to loosen, it won't keep it from turning counter-clockwise the way it is now.
Thanks. I will reverse this!!

I was worried about that too. So far it has not been an issue, but haven't ridden in really hot weather yet.

It’ll be hotter when your radiators get dents in them from debris bending the fins haha.

Gear Lever Diagram.jpg

I hope you don't mind me jumping back in to this thread but as you have all been helpful and have commented on my issue I thought it would be ok to jump back in again
Well I tried today to adjust my gear lever angle as suggested but ive had no luck in getting it to adjust.
This is what I manged to do
I remove my lower fairing
Removed my rear set
Unlocked nut 10
Freed up spindle 9 to allow it to turn
All good so far then I hit a snag
I cant get bolt 11 to undo, I can get an allen key on it but I cannot get it to loosen and now it is rounded off, not a problem as I will just order a new bolt later so after not getting this bolt off I just revered to manual and tried to adjust it by moving spindle 9
When I turn spindle 9 all it does is open up a gap at the quick shifter end No 8 and just moves up the spline at No 12 end , ie it is not making the gear shifter move as it winds out one end it is just pulling in at the other end so there is no movement on the gear shifter, all im getting is a massive gap at No8 and no gap at No 12 when i believe that it should stay still at No 8 end and pull in No 12, surely it should just rotate at the quick shifter end and not move forwards or back and then pull in / out bolt 12 to adjust the gear lever.
what am i doing wrong

So no prob you coming back and asking questions. I would have expected that one end would be reverse thread. This is not the case so unfortunately you have to get bolt 11 off to adjust the length of the rod assembly. (8-12)

another option is available if you have rizoma rearsets. Do you have those?

Ok. Went out to the garage and looked at my stock rearsets. What about removing the lever with the bolt that I highlighted below. I think this would allow you to adjust things temporarily until you can get a new bolt.

Cheers mate for letting my hijack you thread. I'm trying to get my head around what you are saying as I'm not the most technically minded, are you saying if i remove the large bolt that you have indicated that would allow me to swivel the gear level to get access to the bolt 11, I'm just trying to understand what you are trying to show me, there isn't any springs etc in their is there.
Also does it matter where the shift rod 9 ends up, does it have to be fully up against the quick shifter end 8 and tight to ensure it works correctly or can it be in a different position ie away from quick shifter end.
I really cant get my head around how difficult this is and how wrong the manual is, I really thought it would just be the case of removing the lower faring, unlocking nut 10, turning the shift rod 9 to adjust the lever, re locking the nut 10 job done, in my mind the shift rod should just rotate and not move up or down thread 8 and the only part that should move in or out should be part 12.
Just so you can follow what ive done.
I unlocked nut 10, I held the quickshifter on the knurled part with a spanner and then used another spanner on the shift rod cut out No9 to unlock it to allow it to spin, I have then turned the shift rod to the left in the hope that it would draw in bolt 12 to shorten it that end and drop the gear lever down but all it does is move the shift rod up and down the thread and not change the length to allow the gear lever to move up or down.
Thanks for all your help, ive had my bike part 3 times now trying to figure this out
