Fellow racers, did anyone install a thumb rear brake on a V4? Does anyone make a kit?

I really want to use rear brake to take advantage of extra braking capacity that comes with it, and slide by brake electronics, but I find it very awkward to be pressing down with the right foot than my ... is hanging off on the left side in left hand corners. COTA T12 and T1 are prime examples.

I looked into this once, saw the prices and stayed with the foot brake lol

I am in the middle of getting this setup to work on my Hypermotard.

Right now I am using a mechanical setup with a mountain bike lever pulling a cable to a pedal extension.

I have grown to really depend on using rear brake past the point of the front brake release while trail braking and especially while going to throttle on the exit to help fine tune the line. Really eliminates some of the nerves when no longer on that front brake as you bring in the throttle.

I ordered the Qnium https://www.qnium.nl/index.php/prod...aster/21-rear-master-cylinder-side-side-banjo double tap rear master and will be pairing that with a magura HC1 left hand brake to go all hydraulic. Not cheap but does not break the bank either.

I tried to double tap the OEM brembo by welding in a fitting but could not get a good seal with aluminum brazing.

In any case, having rear brake at your fingertips is wonderful.

This is not a paid advertisement :)

Hey man. Thank you for all the info you provided, I'll do some research on it. Last time out in COTA there was a guy pitted next to me with his S1000RR, he had Speedycom thumb rear brake fitted and I wanted to explore options for a V4.

Setup by Barni Racing on a V4

They told me it's Accossato, but I'm not sure

did you get this all set up? How is it?

Not sure why I am not getting notifications.

No, I have not. I have been trying to install the system since June. Originally I ordered the fork mount option and unfortunately it is not very compatible. I could not install it to my satisfaction.

I should be getting a bar mount any day now from Italy and I will give it a shot with that, but it has been very challenging to get this installed.

If I ever do, I will post. I haven't given up.

OK, I gave up. IMA system is not compatible with a V4. I tried both mounts and it is not possible to make it right.
