Since the ‘22 thread looks like it is closing (without any fights, a first!) I’ll pick it up here.

Coming from a ‘15 PaniR track only bike and a year of ‘21 Hypermotard track/street perspective.

Getting the break in miles done then it will mostly be track only, will list out the build with pics later, but similar to the road @Alkhater was going down, exhaust, Ohlins, etc.

Top 3 revelations on my first 100 mile usual route;

1) Forgot about the heat! Manageable by moving my butt a lot but haven’t felt THAT for a few years. Was in a summer textile suit, will be negligible at the track in leathers.

2) Undertail Akra without db killers is an ear drum buster below 6k! Outrageously sexy but will dump the AirPods for real foam tomorrow.

3) I have never used first gear so much on any other bike. Super tall and the ECU felt like there was an anti-stall blip that would happen if it thought my throttle to clutch ratio was off when leaving a dead stop, pretty slick. Didn’t read about that as a feature but sure felt like it multiple times.

Came back from a Cali Superbike thing at Pitt and was impressed mostly with the ergo of the S1000RR. So much more comfortable than my 1199 which made achieving a solid body position a lot easier. All the media reports said the V4 was in the same direction and that is dead on, felt immediately at home.

Looking forward to participating in the V4 forum with real world experience.

One question, Gear Position Sensor and Quickshift Sensor are the only recommended spare parts that can foul a weekend? Want to stock up on a few common parts.

I don’t have any evidence that this would fix it, but after a session get a fan on the bike and get it moving that stagnant air off the GPS. That’s what I’m going to do

FGRT 214, no comment on them as of yet, probably no track time until Sept 26th for this bike, break in service then fairings.

Came from K-Tech cartridges on the PaniR, which always performed well even after a good launch off a berm compressed the hell out of them.

This is great!

Good luck with the build and the riding ❤️

A sore morning from putting 300 miles on in the last two days....man...hats off to any of you masochists that think it is fun to ride these on the street! I have decent 45-55mph roads that you can safely do +10mph on without disturbing much but livestock, but those speeds barely whisk the heat away and keeping the engine below 6k is absolutely deafening. One of my ear plugs dislodged a bit during one stint and I still feel like I have water in my right ear this morning.

Those complaints aside I can't wait to turn laps with this thing, the quick shifter and engine braking are seamless, the DP rear sets offer a great perch, and the braking feel is very similar to my R which I am very happy about. Riding without tank grips (putting them on when track fairings are installed) is quite interesting, I can lock in without them but it uses a lot more energy. Do they still sell the Suzanne Somers Thighmaster?

Build Details
2023 V4 Base, under tail full Akra (I know, $$$ but had to splurge on that one), Ohlins FGRT 214 Forks, TTX Shock, I have a few set of Marchesini rims from the R that will be put on after the first service but rocking the standard rims at the moment. Various levers/guards, axle slider, bar end, and GBR engine covers for crash protection. Track fairings are being painted and will hopefully be done in time for my first service, AIM Solo 2 will be wired up and connected to their camera system. The belly pan is back ordered, no rush there, but if I can get my times down where I want them to be @Chuckwalla I do plan to do some races there this winter...wish they had a Formula 50 class, better podium chances : )

Obligatory chicken strip pics attached, on the same roads I can usually get down to the top of the text on the tire on the Hyper, but I think the great body position this bike helps induce keeps it way more upright in the turns.

Will be at Barber the day after the MotoAmerica round for the first post break in shakedown then she'll be sitting at Chuck for the winter. Hopefully meet up with some of you gents out there.

(Excuse the garage mess, some construction went on last winter and she never recovered, having a new home built for them so my wife doesn't have to witness my obsession every time she goes in the garage.)

You managed to score a solo 2 dl and handy cam? I’m being told they’re back ordered.

Solo 2 was from my old rig, and waited 3 months on the camera over the spring and just never installed it in the R, so had it sitting in the box. Looking forward to not messing with GoPro buttons.

Those chicken strips are embarrassing. You should sell your bikes immediately. So unacceptable for a Ducati owner and multiples at that!

They look like mine. My dragster has very little unused tire left on either side but my 1199 has probably about an inch or so on each side. I'm a little more aggressive on the more upright and comfortable dragster than the aggressive riding position of the panigale but who cares. Size of chicken strips don't matter. It is what it is. I'll keep my strips. Makes my tires last over 5k miles on the 1199 and probably over 7500 on the dragster.

The difference between a good dealer and a "stealer"....listed as a $350 option on the factory website I sent a text to my tech asking if they had them in stock, he asked me to check the box and these db killers were actually in there , and no...there wasn't a line item on my build sheet! Once the roads dry up will give it a go.

That's good to know.

Do you have a tune on your bike? I'm guessing you at least have the Akra DP3 map... I wonder if it needs a retune with the DB killers.

Factory Akra map only and unknown on the need for a tweak, put the db killer in both the R (full Akra) and Hyper (full Termi) and did not notice any negative fueling issues, but a dramatic reduction in pops and crackles.

Admittedly only 220 miles of street riding so far so if there are any deficiencies I am not aware of them.
