Wow, this is like watching a guy standing on the ledge of a building just to get some attention, and few fuckers down below encourage him to jump.......let him do what he wants, this is his life..... he'll enjoy the impact....all they want to see is for someone else to lose more then they have.

acowsik, you don't need this bike, dude, let the R go before you seriously injure yourself to the amusement of people around you, get a used Monster or 848SF and a girlfriend, you'll enjoy riding way more than what you are doing right now.

On a slightly different note: it was obvious, out of 1199 line the R will lose the most to depreciation, but over a quarter of its price in just two months is ....... nuts.

Dude u should walk in there with no less than 40k cash. Not including your trade....


For you to empty a retirement account to get a luxury non essential item, is plain retarded. Take it from a CFP/A if you don't have it in your bucket don't steal money from your 65yr old self. Financing is attractive if you have the capitol to make it work in your favor. I purchased the S and let Ducati make the 1st 6 payments. My next 6 payments paid it off. Banks not making any $$ off this guy.

Like others have said. It's a toy. You've already wrecked an R. Get it fixed & learn how to ride.

You could build your R to Kope's spec & still be in good shape.

Just don't be ridiculous.

Note: I have my own suspicions as to the validity of this story.

You guys sure know how to make this dude the forum superstar. He's like the lindsay lohan of the forums. He may not have the addiction she does but she's always in the news for the wrong things. Ignore the dude and quit feeding into his cyber fame. It's his money, his life, his decisions. Poor judgment or not, who are you to bash the guy for his right or wrong doings? He's an obvious attention seeker on here. Before he got his "2014 R" he felt the need to mention it in every single thread repeatedly. I don't feel pitty for his real life situation. Justified or not, his reason to purchase the R or SL is nobody else's business but his. Ignore his ass n let him crawl back into his hole.

Whether he listens or no is irrelevant...Most members are offering sage advice imho and that's all we can do as a community....

I know they're trying to help but it seems like some are nailing him to the cross. I'm just trying to do the same to our fellow members and remind them they're wasting their time :)

This thread has been rather entertaining and when it comes down to it, I don't see the big deal with this bike, I think my tricolore is better looking than the SL anyway

Personally, there are quite a few member bikes here that are likely to be better, then the SL.
 
Am I the only one who thinks this guy is a phony? Maybe craigslist reincarnated?? Seems like they could be one in the same. Maybe I'm just sill paranoid :-/

Because no 2014 R's (or any 1199) are available. Who the hell is this guy saying hes had a 2014 model since like two months ago? Whats that smell? oh yeah, fish
