If I saw one outside of Starbucks I would say "poser".... This is a track machine...

They same can be said for any sport bike with over 100hp on the road. Do you not think your bike with 170bhp is too much for the road??

I think if you can afford the sl buy it and enjoy, who cares how you ride it as long as you take it out and enjoy

I agree.. if I was able to put down money on it and own one, I would surely be riding it everyday in nice weather and get a lot of miles on it even if it means only on the street.. unless you have insurance that is prepared to cover any .... u do on the track, its a huge risk with this expensive machine..

For sure this bike is not one to be left parked in a garage and sold a few yrs later on as a low miles bike.. that is a total waste having it as a showpiece item..

Look, if people want to just ride the SL on the street that's their prerogative. I completely don't get it...but I'll try not to judge. It's kinda like having the hottest gf around and only wanting to cuddle.

Repeat: having SL, Pani, MVF4, HP4, etc. and not riding letter to letter is the only way I see any of these bikes wasted. Ride how you want and enjoy, just try and lean over a bit!

I got the invite for the SL form Ducati in the UK and put my name in the hat for a place on the "list of 500" never thinking it would come out ? but surprise surprise I have been selected to be a "lucky onwer"

Now I need to stump up the deposit and decide if I want to trade in either my 1098R Bayliss or 1199 Tricolore, assuming you can trade against the SL ? can I really justify the cost of the SL or do I stick with what I have ?

Decisions decisions !!

If you're really serious about getting the SL I would keep the 1098R Bayliss and trade the 1199 Tricolore. That's just my opinion though. At the end of the day the decision is yours to make.

I am going to get a starbucks sponsorship deal with a matching paint scheme. That way I have an excuse to be at the local starbucks with my superleggera. Im just picking up my free coffee! :D

That sums it up pretty good! Do you have copyright on that one or can I use it?;)

Price probably dictates a certain level of "exclusivity".. but being the ultimate poser 1199 I am sure they will sell... Cannot wait to see one outside Starbucks...:)

If I could afford one, I would buy it and go straight to Starbucks.

Oops, forgot I do not think we have Starbucks in Australia. Damm.

Sadly, only Starbucks qualifies as the real temple of douchery...

Come on Phil, can you think of anything more refreshing than a caramel, half skim milk, half soy milk, frappacino (sp?) after jumpin off of that SL?

And making sure you're wearing your SuperLeggera special edition jacket and matching helmet so there's no doubt who's the owner? And, of course, a superleggera t-shirt underneath in case you take your jacket off. Wait, then pull out your superleggera iphone case for when you need to type in those DIGITS!

For those on the fence still, there's your ROI.

I just received word from my dealer that I've been chosen to be a SL owner, now they want 20% (13k) deposit within 10 days to secure the bike for a April 2014 delivery... Hmmmmmm
