you guys are all funny talking in reference to pricing and stuff... Find a single manufacturer doing something like this. The materials involved alone are worth the asking price. Try and make a magnesium composite frame body and get back to me as to the cost of making that and what you'd have to charge to make any money on the deal...
Also, the specs of this bike are amazing. Look closely at the pistons, the crank, the things outside may leave you feeling bummed, but it is the heart that makes me excited. The carbon fiber sub frame alone is probably worth almost $10k. It shouldn't be hidden it is that beautiful.
I've pushed the bike with everything but fuel in it and it felt like a mountain bike. Amazing. And when you look at details like every fairing bolt, every engine bolt, every every bolt made of titanium. The rounded and sculptured fairing edges, the details like the spacers, etc. All attention to details.
This is a "hey world, this is what can be done and produced for the general public". And oh yeah... 8 lbs lighter than the wsbk...
Quit looking at the outside and pay attention to the details and $65k will make you feel that they could have asked for so much more. Try and price out an 1199rs13 and get back to me.
