And after seeing the thing there is no doubt I made the right choice between the R and the 1299 (just for me personally, not everyone's choice ;) ). It is stunning!

Sitting on it it seems so much lighter, how I don't know, it just felt that way....... I did think empty fuel tank, but got straight back on my old R and it feels completely different. Seating position seems higher, but I think that is down to the actual seat, not anything geometry wise. Handle bars definitely pull you more over the tank, but not in a bad way........

More to follow when I actually get to ride it!!

I'm totally jealous.... :D. Can't wait to hear your impressions of it.

Cheers.

Congrats on the new machine. I will be so eager to hear your first ride comments. Please try to make a video of your ride. I think you would be the first ride of the 1299 on Street. I would watch it.

Just called Frasers. Australia's first batch of the 1299 are "on the water" and expected to be available for customer delivery 10 April.

Go pro at the ready!!

Interestingly, you can't really see it in the pictures, although the tank is brushed aluminium effect again, the entire tank is gloss lacquered, but you can see the red paint line is higher.

From my own experience, when dropped on a track day the two leading edges on the sides of the tank were prone to taking the majority of the fall. A member on here, Lance, made tank sliders specifically for those edges which I bought, and would highly recommend for track. Sadly, I got them too late!!

This new design would make small/minor repairs a lot easier As it was from my last spill, although minor, it really needed a new tank, if it was the same damage on this tank, it could of been sorted professionally for a few hundred £.

By mistake or by design, I'm happier with this........ just in case!!!

At the dealers today, should get my hands on it next week after pre-delivery inspection etc.

Congrats on the new bike! New decals would take some getting used to but looks trick. Can't wait to hear how they feel compared to the outgoing Rs.

Picked mine up today got about 20 miles in then it rained, can't wait for some dry weather, top service by JHP Coventry yet again supplying the bike.

Picked mine up today, soooooooooooo much fun coming from a 1199 you wonder if it's worth it. It is !!!!! Just feels perfect the sound is amazing and it's so crisp, the quick shifter is night and day to the 1199 and being able to just tap down through the gears takes a little getting used to but when you are on it and slowing down fast, then wind it back on front wheel very light and just tapping back up again, anyone who who's not smiling inside their helmet needs to take up fishing, they really do !! And all this at running in revs, well mostly ;-)

So good, in fact epic :)

For those waiting it's definitely worth it !!!!!!!!

Only the sun going down brought me home today :)
