Okay, so out again today......

The R is truly epic, that is all :D :D :D

Bearing in mind I can't really tell you what the engine is like due to running in. I don't baby it when running in but I do respect it, I am certain the acceleration is savage, hold on tight, feel it in your arms savage!

To be fair, 5'7" 160lbs, I haven't adjusted anything suspension wise, stock settings seem alright for me just now with the linkage in flat, that may change and I will track it at some point. I have the damper on 15 clicks, it is bordering on stiff when pushing the bike around lock to lock etc, but once moving, light as a feather. I didn't get on too well with the electronic suspension on previous Panigales, this is what I've been wanting. Mechanical suspension, set it once, ride the thing, it just feels right, positive and planted!!

It's just sublime, it is truly something else. No one who has ordered this bike will be disappointed. I had reservations as to whether I had made the right choice over the 1299, they are right out the window. For me personally (not everyone) it's perfect, the bike I have wanted since the first Panigale

Happy days...........

+1 I've not got the 'R' but the 1299 is sooooonmuch better it just fills you with confidence, and turns in so beautifully I've never been through corners so fast and direction change is so stable I was laughing out loud tonight in my helmet, still running in but I'm not babying it either just being respectful, but anyone that can stress this monster on the public road needs to take a look at themselves, it's just insane even at respectful revs, keeping the front on the ground is particularly amusing too.

One tiny thing though the pass light switch is a little long and I catch it when I indicate sometimes with my index finger, interesting design it just works a little too well. I'm being extremely picky though, the bike is just epic, or for you American friends..... Awesome man, just Awwweeeesssoommme :)

How's the engine heat?

I'm in Alberta, Canada and have been told that my bike should be here somewhere around the 15th of April. When I checked last week, it was apparently on the boat. I just hope it gets here and PDI'd asafp. Even though the weather hasn't been anywhere near rideable, I just want my bike sitting in my garage, covered in my drool.

Is that too much to ask?

Congrats buddy on the 2015 R and am sure you are grinning from ear to ear with it in your stable...

How good are the headlights on the R and how bright are they at night compared to those on the 1299S as they have only LED position lights instead of full lights?

My 1299S arrived last week. Today switched the carbon parts of the 1199 back to plastic.
Maybe i could change bikes tomorrow, right before some 66 ºF days ahead in Germany.

My dealer called me today to inform me that my bike and a few others have reached the USA and after clearing customs and being approved by various agencies, including CARB, will be on their way to the West coast... He tells me to expect my bike last week of April.

All I can do is try not to think about it too much and hope that nothing causes any delays. Happy, happy, joy, joy as Ren and Stimpy might sing.. :D:D

Yay California!

They didn't seem so concerned about the fire as getting pics and videos of it.

Id be pretty pissed if that was my bike. Any clue what caused it Duck?

Agreed. Apparently it was a press bike, but the situation should have been handled with a bit more professionalism. As Catman mentioned, this was seemingly due to a glob of chain lube, but it's pretty clear that this bike, much like the 1199, can generate a considerable amount of heat. The shot showing 5-6 seconds of continuous afterburner was impressive.
