Just got word from my dealer that the Panis that are ordered for that dealer are in Toronto... My ride should be here next week and will be PDI'd/Assembled within 2 days of arrival.

Excited.

Looks like the floodgates have opened for the first wave of 1299 deliveries; a bunch of us got our emails from our dealers today.

Cheers.

Let me start by saying... "I am NOT a fan of excessive carbon fiber"...

Having said that, I have always run shorty levers on all my bikes and so this is my first purchase for the incoming 1299: These in the shorty length.

Had them on both my 1199's. Excellent shape that feels great on my fingers. Beautiful looks! And the price ain't too bad IMO!

And hey even if they take a couple grams off the bikes weight that's a bonus.(that I'm not even 1/100th of the rider you'd ned to be to notice a litte weight difference.

Thanks very much for the feedback; it makes me feel better about them, since I haven't seen any reviews of them online yet. Do they wear OK? i.e when you put some miles on them, do they start to look a bit tatty?

Cheers..

No, they are fine. 5,000 street miles on my clutch one i have left (i just bought a new front brake one) and it shows no "wear and tear." It is however rashed to all .... and is missing a 1/2" chunk off the end from my lowside. It got an incredibly small crack but it is still tough as all hell and no matter how much i try to bend and break it it just wont break. No reason to buy an unnecessary new one- its going on the '15!

I have these on my 1199 in the standard length and let me say they are phenomonal bud. I love them, but word of caution. I can only get 3 fingers on the standard length so check em before you fly!!!

Yeah, well.... still an excruciating wait of a week before it gets here.

The dealership tells me that the first few 1299's will be assembled and tested by the regional Master Mechanic from Ducati, not by the techs at the dealership.. Sounds like a great way to do it and hopefully it means my bike will be perfect when I get my hands on it.

I don't remember being this excited when my BMW S1000RR arrived...

Mate you have no idea.......

As I said earlier, I am still stuck on a bloody oil rig with the bike in my garage, this is torture, in fact, it's inhumane!

The missus did take the p*ss and send me a couple of pictures......

She could of a) turned the light on and b) tidied up!!

And they thought Guantanamo was bad!!!:(:(:(

Just to make you feel worse, mines booked in Saturday for the first service :D

Yeah, cheers pal........

Quickly though, have you noticed a different enginge sound to last year's R? This one seems to have a whirring noise, as well as the usual mechanical noise, or is it just me?

And the side stand is just as f*cking annoying too! :D

Not sure mate, I havent heard last years (just back on a bike after a couple of years off).
The side stand is a bit tucked away :) It took a while to put down at first with Dainese Axial in boots on, I was trapped sitting on it at first!

Mellillimoto Ducati in Ocala, FL just received 3 S models. One is sold already.

I just dont get it! Apparently these come in to the US in the northeast, yet no dealer in the NE has these. But they pop up in Florida first. ugh :eek:

I just got an email from the salesman at Gulf Coast....They got an S in yesterday. He apologized because he thought it was my bike(standard version).

I guess I could call and see if the S is sold....
