Looks like the floodgates have opened for the first wave of 1299 deliveries; a bunch of us got our emails from our dealers today.Just got word from my dealer that the Panis that are ordered for that dealer are in Toronto... My ride should be here next week and will be PDI'd/Assembled within 2 days of arrival.
Excited.
Let me start by saying... "I am NOT a fan of excessive carbon fiber"...
Having said that, I have always run shorty levers on all my bikes and so this is my first purchase for the incoming 1299: These in the shorty length.
Thanks very much for the feedback; it makes me feel better about them, since I haven't seen any reviews of them online yet. Do they wear OK? i.e when you put some miles on them, do they start to look a bit tatty?Had them on both my 1199's. Excellent shape that feels great on my fingers. Beautiful looks! And the price ain't too bad IMO!
And hey even if they take a couple grams off the bikes weight that's a bonus.(that I'm not even 1/100th of the rider you'd ned to be to notice a litte weight difference.

Yeah, well.... still an excruciating wait of a week before it gets here.
The dealership tells me that the first few 1299's will be assembled and tested by the regional Master Mechanic from Ducati, not by the techs at the dealership.. Sounds like a great way to do it and hopefully it means my bike will be perfect when I get my hands on it.
I don't remember being this excited when my BMW S1000RR arrived...
Just to make you feel worse, mines booked in Saturday for the first service
Yeah, cheers pal........
Quickly though, have you noticed a different enginge sound to last year's R? This one seems to have a whirring noise, as well as the usual mechanical noise, or is it just me?
And the side stand is just as f*cking annoying too!
Congratulations... Must be on the same truck headed west, as mine is. Where in CA are you located?Jus got my VIN and that means it will be in my hands in a week.
