Based on that the only logo I can put on my bike is my company logo…which I think I’m gunna do for tax purposes lol

:D lmk how it goes. I was trying to persuade my CPA father in law that my wife should be able to get a $7500 tax credit (business vehicle) on a Tesla if she drove it to the office, but he said that she couldnt use the car for anything else then

Man the owner at the shop that works on my bike use to have a data collection and management company for race teams (MotoAmerica ex) that had real sponsors that gave them real money. He has this weird thing about poking fun at guys who come to his shop with company decals on their bikes: “Are those guys giving you money or free parts?, then why are you advertising for them?” With a bit of disdain in his voice hahaha

It weirdly wore off on me so now you don’t see company logo’s other than Ducati and the ubiquitous Shell badge on my bike. Kinda annoying for me because I kinda liked putting the stickers from some of the cooler parts I put on the bike. But when he said that it became like when someone shows you something that you can’t unsee after you see it lol

Now when I go to put a sticker or decal on my bike I can’t do it, because I say to myself; ‘this is some poser ...., cause these guys aren’t paying me’ 😂😂😂

Ah just free advertising for Ducati and Pierobon then..🙄

You can still itemize out the mileage used to go back and ‘for business’, and they don’t scrutinize the amount of miles too much unless you go too crazy with it.

It’s 65.5 cents per mile…so if it’s a 50 mile round trip for work everyday, for 260 work days per year, that’s a $8,515 deduction.

How much sponsorship from the shiny bling tat ?😉

Lol

My only point was, everyone has there ‘things’ they they think are badass or poser on these bikes ;-)

Personally I think the only bling that makes a bike badass or poser is how fast you can get it around the track. So no matter what I do or don’t do to my bike so far I’m either poser or halfway poser on any bike I ride.

Whereas guys like Rick, Bruce, and RoadracerX and probably Karl are pretty badass looking even if they wrapped their bike in metallic gold 😂😂😂….Rick

Saving a pound or two or rotating mass isn't going to make anybody here that much faster. Better spent on coaching, tires or trackdays.
Nobody is at the limit of the bikes potential. If I put a 520 chain on my bike my laps times aren't going to improve. It's down to the riders ability
3 Lattes aren't going to help me either!!

I always think that’s a bit of a nonsense argument. To say you should spend the money on something else instead infers you can only do one thing.

Personally, I believe that removing weight from bits that rotate is always beneficial and even if it makes no difference to times it can make a difference to feel and thus perhaps confidence. And even if it doesn’t, if it makes you happy to have it then that’s fine as well.

I also don’t drink lattes and this frees up cash for other things that help my performance (cigarettes). 👍

Doesn’t really work that way. I use to have a field tech support job where we got to deduct mileage. You couldn’t count the trip to your first call from home nor from the last call to home.

That doesn’t get spun around at 15,000rpm (unless something has gone horribly wrong).

Didn’t you just buy yourself a nice light Sitta aluminium sprocket?

I bought it for the gearing not the lightweight. Dropping down to a 15 on front sprocket has been very beneficial

Gearing always makes sense. I was at a Dealer yesterday for that and who walks in to pickup a bike, Josh Herrin....
