Akrapovič Evolution exhaust

hey guys, i thought ill post sumfin real interesting to read and talk about
this came from the akra site

"The exhaust systems are designed to function properly using the stock carburetor or electronic fuel injection set-ups. This means that no changes to the stock set-ups are necessary in order to use Akrapovič exhaust systems. Also, all of the performance specifications which we measure and list for each exhaust system model are based on stock set-ups. We assume full responsibility for the accuracy of these specifications. However, we also believe that it is possible to improve the original set-ups when our exhaust systems are used."

i know that you can prove upon the akras but is it really safe to just leave it stock with aftermarket exhaust?

So there is no up map for the exhaust..

I really want to see how much improvement it'll make over stock then..

We need an independent (owner) to purchase one, and take to their local dyno shop. Any voulunteers? I am guessing no one that is aware of AR's up and coming exhaust, will buy one until they see it.

Everyone chip in and I'll order it and do a before and after dyno hehehe:p

$4,000 and it doesn't come with a new map???

I've been waiting this whole time to just be over charged and disappointed by Akra

If this thing doesn't create more power (throughout the rev range) and Akra doesn't release power numbers they stand behind (dyno charts etc) why the F would anyone buy one???

I like the exhaust but I prefer the all carbon fiber exhaust cans that Akrapovic makes. If they release that and price it more reasonably maybe I'll pick these up. As it stands, $4600 can cover almost my entire race budget for the year.

It's always been like this € 3600,- for just the headers and cans, no ecu / upmap.
Had Akra's on my 999s and 1098s before.
If you want a total package (with guarantee) for even a lower price, pick Termignoni.
If you want something special, titanium, with the best performance possible, pick an Akra and get a powercommander or wait till it's possible to rewrite the ecu with a bike-specific map.
Ever wondered why most people go with Termignoni but always drool when they see an Akra ? ;)

i had a post on hear a while back called phone call with akra. i wrote this on july 18th

ok so here is how my phone call went with akrapovic yesterday. I and I also assume many of you are wondering about an akrapovic system for the 1199 so i finally gave them a call to find out for myself and here are the answers. Yes Akra is doing a full exhaust system for the 1199. They are coming out in November and it will be a full system. The system is going to be all titanium. They do not know if they will be doing just slip ons (i assume they will). As far as the ecu flash goes, I was told that Akra systems are made to run without any type of flashing or power commands but remapping wouldnt hurt the system either. What do you guys think about that? The price will be in the 4k range for the full system but that wasnt firm just speculation. I know if am ready to get a full system termi akra whatever i wouldnt want stainless steal (termi) pipes i mean the stock system is stainless steal.

i was blasted for saying the akra system works with no mapping. i am vindicated now

theres the post and see how everyone was saying there has to be a remap

Mark, grow a pair or some thicker skin ;)

This .... annoys me the most. please check my link and price

BMW S1000RR 09 12 AKRAPOVIC EVO FULL TITANIUM COMPLETE EXHAUST LIGNE ECHAPPEMENT | eBay

2.3k for akras on s1000rr

Not only 2 outlets on the 1199, but very special as they mold to the body work, unlike any others. The BMW cans are similar to others. Not to mention the piping is unusual to accommodate the placement. AR is not going this route, nor are the using Titanium, so theirs should be substantially less. All this for only $1500 more!

do you think the termi full system upmap would work with the akra full system? just saying its all pipes (george costanza reference). just a different brand so why wouldnt it work

oh mitchlguzen i dont care what people say for the simple fact it came from the horses mouth at akra. i like saying i told you so. so for all the people that said i was wrong well i told you so.

so as of now here is where we stand

akra- 4600 no up map no performance numbers best build quality and looks imo for whats out

termi- full system 4000 worse performance (dont know about the new upmap yet) then stock. but you get another stainless header thats slightly bigger.

termi slips- 2000 best performance out right now.

all retail prices i used guess we have to wait for austin racing and arrow.

heavily leaning to termi slips i can always get the pipe later once the new pipe comes out and you know it will
