Anyone 'carry' when riding?

that's great, but you can't 3-d print the ammo.

Ultimately the smarter thing for the govt to do is heavily tax ammunition and components. People that want guns for self defense can afford to buy a box or two of ammo. Sport enthusiasts will pay to play.

WIthout ammo, you can maintain your right to bear arms but it's only a very expensive club.

carrying while riding = YEAH BABY! that would be amazing!

OK, I am not French, I am a Finn. I lived in Beverly just north of Boston two years, worked in Woburn. I have lived in Finland, France, Germany, US, UK and now back in France. I now work in China, Singapore and Taiwan.

I fly more than 300 hours a year. I have seen enough ........ drunk on the flights so that I am happy none of them were allowed to carry a gun on a plane.

I was being ironic...

you want gov to TAX MORE!?!?!

Figures!

Wake up Chris! The conspiracy is what you take for reality. It's called the nuthouse aka the military/prison/war on "terror"/war on "drugs"/healthcare/etc industrial complex aka The USSA!

The criminals don't pay taxes and they certainly don't apply for gun permits, but they always invariably get their weapons, laws or no laws! And taxation today supports illegal wars, bogus gov and the corporatocracy. I'm a true libertarian and today capitalism and liberty are under direct threat, as is intelligence...

Ever heard of NDAA?

MOOOOAAAARRR TAXES [on law abiding citizens]!!!! LOL!!!!!!! Maybe The Fed can print MOAR than that $85bill a MONTH and subsidize some bullets and gov revenue shortfalls? /sarc

/rant over.

Once a thread gets political it is worthless....

Ammo IS arms... :(

let's make it expensive to practice so when the time comes that someone has to use a firearm to defend themselves or their family, they will be inaccurate. SMART. :(

I live in NZ where the Police don't carry firearms on their person (in boot of the car) and require commanding officer approval before deploying one. Here you have to apply with the Police to have a gun licence and purchase ammunition, if you have convictions, mental health issues etc you will not be accepted to get one. You cannot carry a fire arm on your person, however you an have it in your vehicle if you are going shooting etc, not allowed to be loaded, you require a special licence for hand guns and must belong to a gun club where that is the only place allowed to discharge and store it. We still have way too many people being accidentally shot when out shooting deer etc by other people in the party, even with hi-vis vests etc on!!!!! It is a rarity to hear someone shot dead on the streets like elsewhere in the world, but it does happen.
You ride a Panigale which is capable of out running a bullet LOL so why on earth do you need to carry "JUST IN CASE?". The culture in the US is everyone has the right to carry arms and defend themselves etc, what's wrong with just talking it out? Or a good old fisty cuffs!!!!! However, a firearm is still easily obtainable in NZ without a licence and Iwould suspect many people have a firearm for a just in case moment.
My concern on your bike would be it discharging in a crash and you end up shooting yourself disabling yourself from riding the loaded weapon called THE PANIGALE !!!!!!

No disrespect, comments about the discharging and etc show me, you dont know much about guns.

Its almost saying, in a crash, piston shoots up and hitting your ......

I know you dont know me, but I am experienced in guns and accidental discharges.

Guns is my job, more or less.

No offense, but this is easily the most hilarious post I've even seen in the year or so I've been here. Really. I couldn't stop laughing. :p

Which is probably why NZ is about a far from the US as any other country can get. :D

Seriously, when your life is in danger when there is an imminent threat to grave bodily harm or death (which is the ONLY time you should deploy your weapon), you suggest "talk it out?" LOL LOL LOL

As a knife is plunging towards your heart or the side of your neck, just "talk it out?"

So in your country you have to ask the government to purchase a weapon and ammunition, what happens when they tell you NO?

Jariva, it is American idiosyncrasy and that is the way it is, take it or leave it. let me give you a more graphic example: you aren't allowed to carry any weapon in a flight, not even a tiny knife. Well that doesn't make any sense!! if all passengers carried guns, no terrorist would dare to try anything, right? now apply that logic to the everyday life and voila
I still choose to live here enjoying my pani in socal...

I am surprised of how little support my comment has caused. can any of the pro-gun participants tell me what is wrong with my previous statement?? :D

Um... all our bikes (mine included) are in the $20k+ Price Club. And they're essentially Grown Up Toys. So seeing how we don't buy our toys from the dollar store or Wally World (aka Walmart), does anyone really think a tax on ammo would stop us from buying 10 boxes (500 rounds) per visit? :p

I shoulder carry personally. And since my jacket is normally zipped, I have no intention of attempting a Mission Impossible -esque shootout on my bike. But I've been mugged twice (once ending with a concussion) while off my bike and unarmed. I was also attacked once by 3 assailants, one armed with a knife, while armed and only had to suffer endless questioning.

Guess which end of the fence I sit on :D

There is no where on earth were crime is not an issue. While it is best to avoid these places if possible, anyone can be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The only question is, would you rather be able to do something to keep from becoming a victim or not. If you are proactive in protection yourself, then at what level do you want to be ready. Discussion does not have to be about guns just the amount of readiness you want to accept.

I wear protective gear on my bike, but have no plan on using it. Still ware it though.

Airline pilots use to not think about carrying a gun but facts dictate otherwise.
