Anyone 'carry' when riding?

Are you guys for real, carrying a gun while riding your bike? I am lucky I do not live in your part of world with straight roads and people with guns. I twist the throttle and in a few seconds I am out of any trouble.

Here we go again.

mdracer - cocked and locked?

I am all for CCWing but not on a bike. I do my best to avoid situations which would require deadly force and rely on my martial arts skills if force is needed. If i can't use that, i use harsh language and throw shoes :D

I know there's a different culture in the US but I've got to ask the question... WHY?!!!

Unless you are expecting to get into trouble what's the point. Surely it's going to be uncomfortable under leathers and I can't see it doing you any favours in the event of a crash. No criticism intended, just don't see the upside.

Did you ever stop to think, what if you need to do a drive by on your Pani? come on geezz think before you post silly :)

+1 - avoidance is key. If they chase me I can release the seat cowl (sometimes it happens automatically) and this allows the stock pegs I have stored there to fall out and hopefully cause enough damage to a pursuing aggressor to allow me to get away. If that fails, I'll hit him/her with the stock tail piece or the fairing extensions.

Yeah...here we go again is right.

Some non-American talking about American gun laws.

I can say many things about France but I dont choose to since I dont see it first hand.

Yes, I have a conceal permit, but its not like i'm out there looking for trouble but I have been cornered on the hwy by a bike gang to pull over and was told "hand your keys over", In which I just put my keys in my pocket and told them to come get it. Luckily, a police pulled up behind wondering why 15 bikes were pulled over. haha. But i didn't snitch, I said everything was cool and took off. Now my intentions are just simply "its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it"

I'm not sure there are 15 guys that could catch most of us on our 1199 if they tried to take our keys, let alone all 15 being in the same place, I have seen lots of things in my life but I never saw 15 bikers all shot by one guy for asking for his keys? I mean for god sake what if they just wanted to wash his bike for him or just repo guys that got the wrong bike or or......

Jariva, it is American idiosyncrasy and that is the way it is, take it or leave it. let me give you a more graphic example: you aren't allowed to carry any weapon in a flight, not even a tiny knife. Well that doesn't make any sense!! if all passengers carried guns, no terrorist would dare to try anything, right? now apply that logic to the everyday life and voila
I still choose to live here enjoying my pani in socal...
