Aprilia RSV4R Factory versus 1199

Because of their riders and I'm not referring to Pedrobot :D

I will admit I've had a few Hondas in the past. A 95 Chris 900, 95 Goldwing (lasted 8 months, I'll never be that old), and an 03 RC51. Refused to buy another one since. It's just silly how I choose to buy my bikes. I bought an 07 R1 because Yamaha took out full page adds congratulating Hayden on his championship while Hondas adds congratulated their own bikes for winning. Go figure. ;)

I was actually referring to Aprilia .. But undoubtedly right now Honda lead the way in MotoGp... but I see in LeMans at least Ducati improved their position.. a lot.. But Aprilias success in Sbk has way more relevance to the bike you can buy than any MotoGp bike...

I'm with ya Stw. Aprillia has been kicking arse even without Max. It's also good to see Kawasaki and Beemer being competitive. Now if Honda would update their bike, Jonathan Rea would be on strong contender. He's definitely been outriding his bike.

if only you could ride their standard liter bike consumer offering to, say, 60% of its limitation, and not just en route to your starbucks visit :D

The day I can buy the MotoGP Honda is the day I might take Honda seriously.

Ah, hence the exact reason why "looks" is arguably one of the most important criteria in picking a bike! I can ride neither anywhere near the limitations and the Ape has a deltabox, Honda front end, dual sided Pro-link swingarm and a host of other aesthetic atrocities too egregious to mention. I'll stick with my too-hot, unreliable, sketchy electronic, yet beautiful Panigale thank you.

:)

Well at least you acknowledge why someone might look elsewhere in the Super bike class...;)

it's your right to suffer on your way to starbucks and even learn to enjoy it!

so if it is not the bike and it is not the rider, why in your opinion is Dani winning races??

Seriously it's always a combination of bike and rider. Not just one or the other. Rossi proved it when he went to Yamaha and Stoner with Ducati. And sometimes a bike can get so lost that great riders can't make a difference.

lol.. I should say "I'll stick with it until it starts breaking down frequently". Then it goes and I get a Yamaha (which looks just like the Ape, but costs less and I'd wager is much more reliable and easier to source parts for).

god forbid it takes away from the pretty pani lines!

maybe AR can design a heatshield cup holder in one!?!?!?!

I'm working on a seat or tank mounted cup holder. I figure the "heat problem" can keep my latte warm.

Haha... I guess there is only so low down the totem pole of bikes I am prepared to go...but you have a point...

and one would think a discerning mc rider would support better (organic) coffee houses than that starbucks dreck?

Hey but when you get to Starbucks you can always order a super size vanilla bean frapuccino to cool off :D

Didn't Honda announce last year that they were developing a V-4 Sport bike for general sale to the public? It was supposed to be like the Desmosedici in that it would be costly and limited production. I remember that clearly but haven't heard anything about it in a while.

Actually, any manufacturer's success in FIM 1000cc Superstock has a lot more relevance than either of the above. Watch this year's races on YouTube - you're already on the right bike...

It appears that Honda are certainly not investing too much in the Cbr1000rr right now... apart from optional Abs it has very little tech... now some would say that's a good thing.... But I like tech...:p

I honestly stay away from Starbucks even though my friends keep telling me my bike hangs out there when I'm out off town. I prefer a little bakery coffee shop in the Eatonville. The coffee's good, and the pasties are fresh and different every day.

Then it has dash problem for years to figure out how to fix.:D

I like the tech too.
