Then it has dash problem for years to figure out how to fix.:D

I like the tech too.

I was at my Duc shop Saturday getting some work done and I talked to the service manager about the dash problem. He said Ducati finally figured it out. It wasn't the dash causing the problem, they came up with a new wireing harness for the dash with different resistors and that took care of the problem. Thought I'd pass that along since the dash was somewhat responsible for this thread.

resistors caused the fogging? interesting....

Not the fogging but all the other dash problems. Malfunctions etc. sorry guys completely slipped my mind. Hopefully your dealers have this info by now. My dealers Ducati Bellevue and the service managers Dave.
Just been keeping an eye on this stuff cause this will be my new bike in 2015. Took the Pani S out for a ride while they were working on mine. :D

A couple of thoughts... I replaced my S1000RR with the 1199. When I started the demo 1199 I knew I had to have it. I bought a Ducati because I absolutely love Ducati's. Every time I start it, ride it, look at it, track it, I love it all the more. And I ride the snot out of it.

And like others here I've had my share of maintenance issues... Clutch master needing to be bled all the time, leaking coolant, leaking oil from rear cam / valve cover, lots of awesome heat from stock and Termi exhaust (just got the heat stuff installed last week but haven't picked it up to try it), oh, and the blinker issue too!

I didn't buy the bike for the fastest lap time, nor most comfy ride or the most reliability.

And Stw, if it helps, Sofi and Jeff wouldn't be disappointed if you got the Ape!

Why is AMS even relevant to this discussion?? They are not my dealer and I have zero dealings with them...

Your obsequious allusions to that dealer are both irrelevant and annoying...

I'm just sayin! And I didn't mention AMS did I? For someone that's had zero dealings with them, they sure know you well! Karma can be a bitch... :)

i hope you'll update us when the dash is totally weatherproofed, improved resistors notwithstanding.

Haha... You know damn well what you were referring too.. and yes they know me well because I refuse to deal with their constantly mendacious service dept.. Their sales side is awesome and Marty is a first rate guy..:). but service is their cash cow I refuse to feed...

You are oddly fascinated by my past dealings with them...Stalker perhaps??

Yes, Marty is a good friend of mine and a great guy... Jeff is also a good friend and an awesome guy but he's the owner, not service... Sofi is kinda cute but about the same age as my daughter so that's gross! LOL

Sorry to everyone else here for the distraction but it felt so right!

What on Earth are you talking about??? What has the "cuteness" of anyone got to do with anything??

Tastes bad, but I'll get over it.:D

Lol.. well firstly thanks for getting this thread back from the odd place it just went.. secondly you gotta report back man.. either way.... Did you have to beg for a test ride or was it just offered?? Both my dealers say Aprilia doesn't give them any test bikes or ability to offer test rides... Its a huge stumbling block for me...

Just a note, many of my bikes dashes have fogged. My RC51 had an electronic dash and it also fogged and they also warped/melted from heat inside the dash. But Honda fixed that. They sent me a cool black anodized aluminum plate to stick ontop the dash so you didn't see the melted spot. Better than new :D
