Aprilia RSV4R Factory versus 1199

Haven't we already seen this comparo???

4th - MV F4RR
3rd - Aprilia RSVR4RR Spec Factory Team RSV4
2nd - Pani R
1st - HP4

I wouldn't care if the Pani was last - every other bike is the same old thing. At least with the Panigale Ducati tried something new. (ex. Frameless, LED lights, underbelly exhaust, etc etc.) And is by far the sexiest, to me at least.

It brings a grin to my face every time I ride it, feels fast stable with plenty a power. Sound is to die for I have the austin gp2r full system. Gear box smooth precise and quick shifter perfick. I have raced and like a bike I can trust to not throw any nasty stuff at me. V4 I find predictable. Panigale I do luv but also I hate as it tries to bite me in the ass to often:eek:

Thanx dude

I put a 1-10 rating below to help explain myself.

Maybe not fair to compare sound coz I have the full system on the ape and not on the 1199 yet.... Plan on the austin gp2S soon as I save my pennies :D

Just out of interest...Have you read the AR threads on here???

oh boy here we go, again!

AR: the co/thread/beta product that just keeps on giving!

I am really not trying to go there...But the guy mentioned wanting a AR pipe... I owe him some info to base his decision on... as a fellow 1199 owner .. No?? I will add no comments etc.. I promise..

you did a good deed Stw, no doubt.

Read a few pages seemed like a bad side of the forum. Why was that bashing let go for so long.

My choices I always base on my experiences, I see a couple of 1199 guys at the ace cafe with austin exhausts. Man they look & sound quality. Nothing but praise from those guys.

Austin fitted me up with a full GP system on my V4, for me they were top guys.

My 1199 is a fun toy but the sound just don't do it for me. I need more noise much more noise. My V4 sound is a drug:D

I used to be on supercross forums where inevitably, regardless of the original topic, each thread would end up about James Stewart. I'm starting to get that same feeling here with AR lol.

Lol.. well that's one viewpoint.... I refuse to comment further on anything AR related... I am glad you like the pipe on the Aprilia.. Thanks for the comparo you did.. Rsvr vs 1199 Interesting points you made..

It is probably best for someone not to use this forum to help decide on an AR pipe - that was a bad side, and hopefully gone for good, replaced by movie-spam - wtf...

wow this thread has really received some attention, but I gotta give you huge props for asking this question a it has been on my mind too. I stated on here about trading in and got flame sprayed but that is expected.

I test rode the Ape. Keep in mind I am 6'3" tall and 230, so I felt a little big on it. However for my riding style I liked the stock gearing better. Other than that the heat issue is just stupid on the Duc to me.

I have also considered going back to an R1 possibility as well. I will give it another 6 months and see how I feel.

I pulled the trigger today on a white base 1199 w/ abs. Spent all day yesterday test riding bikes and Im 100% sure I made the ride decision. the S1000 just didn't do it for me. No doubt its a very capable bike and by most accounts its the more practical choice but there was just something missing, it didnt excite me. I could not find a dealer with a rsv4 demo so I had to test a Tuono and sat on a rsv4. The handling is everything its cracked up to be, you tell the bike where to go and it complies, but it just seemed to compact of a position for me to use on a daily basis. It does seem a little dated but at 15k for the base model its unbeleviable value. At the end of the day the 1199 is the bikes I couldent get out of my head. 70 miles on the clock so far and loving every minute of it, never had a bike make me smile inside my helmet this much.

Panigale all day! Full package; heritage, looks, and performance!! Everything has a flaw if you look!!!
