Guys I went out on George Wasingot Pkwy for a couple of runs up and down from 495 to Mt Vernon. Very nice rided except for the road quality in spots. Are there any other suggestions for riding spots? Also, when do any bike night kick off or is there a bar that shows the motogp races? Qatar is right around the corner. thanks!

You need to head out my way (Gainsville/Bristow) and that's only a start point... Right now the roads have me scared shitless but I'm also just getting back on after a low side last year due to gravel in a turn.

Look for a town called Hume, VA (its nothing more than a 4 way stop sign). However you got there and however you leave will be fun.

I froze my balls off this morning knowing the ride home from work would be awesome. :D

OK Burn. Sounds good. I see what you mean about the roads since there is probably still SALT down. Thank you for the riding tips and let's try to ride before I leave here. I am going back to Miami April 17. Thanks

Welcome to dc and the weather is getting better just watch out for all the pot holes. I hit one yesterday....omg!

The salt and gravel IS pretty nasty right now but the intermittent 50-60 days are pretty good. Just watch out for Friday and that snow that may hit.

got it guys. thanks for the advice. I am not used to snow in Miami.

If I can get down before you leave after the gravel/salt are gone I will come down to ride with you and the tri area fellas. Maybe a few tri area fellas from here to come down too.

Burn, thank you for the riding tips. I was able to get out and ride the Hume area today and it was a lot of fun. I also went up 211 to Skyline but turned around rather than paying the $10. Too much sand on the road so it was not worth it. There is some very nice riding up here for sure.

Someone told me about a event the first Sunday of each month at the Mail Street Pub in Clifton. Its bikes and breakfast. I could not make it today but maybe we can get a group to meet up the first Sunday in May. Thanks to Gunny for the riding tips too.

Can confirm on 211, I was just in that area hitting up copper fox distillery. Weather wise I think this week there are a couple of showers going on this week. Maybe that'll be all we need to get the roads in prime condition.

I have to speak with a few ducatisti but keep your eyes peeled for a spring ride post.

I went to one of the Bikes and Breakfast last year and it is well worth hitting up again. I just need a reminder that its going on. Good to hear you made it out of NoVA too.

I don't work the first and third Sundays... If I can find one that is not filled up with 'Honey-Do's' I'll try and get a ride going.

sounds good. I am taking a week off from April 20 to the 27 then back to this area the first weekend in May before gong to Miami. The bike and breakfast that weekend may work. The rriding was nice out in that area. I knew I was on the right track when I pulled over and saw some dude on a BMW wearing a race suit then I passed and audi R8 and a Porsche 911.
