depends on where you live. He lives in DFW... it is a waste of time

Just endless stretches of straight freeway and when I lived there construction everywhere
Fair, but his choice of verbiage was not specific to him or his geography and in generalization, included everyone, everywhere which is why I posted.

Yes Texas landscape is drab. I have lived in very pretty parts of the country prior to Texas, and street riding a superbike is still a waste of time. 225 hp with horrible ergonomics, horrific ride quality, heat pouring on to you and that's before you get to bad roads, traffic, bad weather and distracted drivers. Everything about street riding a superbike is a pretense.

Now if you tell me you ride a gold wing or Harley or GS and tour the country, I can see the beauty in that.

I have never ridden a my bike or a standard V4 on the road but i cannot imagine its that fun

the more you track the less fun it is, because these things are the funnest on curves, but at least for me it’s still fun to go out on an empty highway, pull over, launch it and run the speed up as fastas it will go at full wot…..I don’t think that feeling will get old for me anytime soon

Bike looks great man but damn there is a lot going on there. Not so sure I would want to troubleshoot that thing if something went sideways. Short of a whole kit does anyone make an aftermarket harness for the V4? The V4s electrical system looks like haunted house.

a fair amount of that will go away with blocking off the smog stuff and pulling all that plumbing and electrical….if we go there eventually these guy can do a full race harness and ECU, probably about $20k all in….and they have the credentialing and experience to manage it

All that tear down, you shoulda just replaced all nuts n bolts with proti or somethin.

we are replacing a lot of them, just not going nuts about it, replacing are the bigger bolts that have some weight to them but the only smaller stuff we are replacing are the stuff you use all the time, like handlebar stuff etc

Meh, I don’t like going for 3 hour or longer rides on this bike, but I still enjoy jumping in and going for quick little 20-30 minute Adrenalin romps anytime I want

Im trying to persuade Mick Boesman Bike sport developments to create a V4 track Harness... he is only a few miles from me. He said the std looms are built to a price, that complicated and to do a race harness in quality materials rather than the std pish stuff would be very expensive....

A properly designed and made harness is expensive. I don’t see a point in doing a harness swap alone tbh. Might as well go stand-alone ecu at this point unless you wanna keep the factory rider aids and functions.

Superbike unlimited developed their own system based on Motec i think they worked with bike sport development and it's a really well designed and built system. I think hacking into the STD harness would be messy it's a real mess and building a race harness just isn't cost effective IMO

That’s the point I was making. If you’re gonna swap to a race harness then might as well swap the ecu and incorporate a pdm while at it.

That’s all sexy AF.

What fuel tank is that? Never seen it before.

Awesome workshop too and whatever that thing is with a Suter swingarm, BM I think.

I wanna Suter swingarm a Panigale one day. I wonder if they’d make it.
