I dunno. Comparing myself to Michael Jordan or Elon Musk is not something I would do. At the end of the day, everyone on this thread is just another dude with varying degrees of slightly above average disposable income. I don't care if you hang out on ducatiforum or rennlist or ferrarichat, you are still just another guy throwing money at off the shelf products to spruce up your toy. Hundreds of millions of us in this world.

What is it that you do Steven that makes you the foremost expert in the world in that field? Would we have read about you perhaps? Biographies written about you? 60 minutes or BBC interviews? Honorary doctorates conferred on you? Invitations to speak at Davos? Not trying to be a sceptic, but when you declared yourself as a top person in the world, it makes this line of questioning fair game. Genuinely interested.

Ever hear of a guy named Tadea Yoshida? Or YKK?

Fascinating story of outstanding success within a niche….but you’ll never hear of him unless pointed him out….notoriety is not an indicator of dominance or success within a given field.

I’m thinking it’s best to not let my ego get in my own way and respond here, in this format, to those questions….but yes, in my field everybody knows me, and while not Davos, policy makers come to us for input (that they rarely use) on policy decisions, and over the years we’ve helped design programs ranging from Disaster relief to tax policy and spoken at Harvard, Wharton, and Stanford MBA programs giving Master Classes, I also changed the business model of an entire industry, and over the course of 20 years have saved about 900,000 jobs in this country, and raised the income of about the same amount.

I don’t think he used the numbers for scientific comparison, but rather to note rarity. Overstated, sure but it’s just a friendly conversation.

It’s your perception that there are 7 billion people in your demographic, against whom, your success should be compared?

It’s funny, the little niche of the car world that I play in, specifically half mile airstrip races, there are all these ‘micro-world records’ where people will artificially create a car class, then set the ‘world record time’ and go on about how “I have the worlds fastest 997 series Porche 911”

not ‘I have the worlds fastest Porsche’….I have the worlds fastest Porche 911 Turbo non-S built between 2009 and 2013’.

you might say they are comparing themselves to the ‘right demographic’….I find all that a bit silly.

I’m pretty sure I have the fastest Porsche Cabriolet from any generation in the world….but unless I have the fastest Porsche in the world you won’t hear me saying I have the fastest 991.1 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet in the world.

neither will you hear me saying something like: ‘In the metrics of total Client ROI on completed projects, jobs saved, cash collected per project, and successful turnarounds I’m the top Caucasian male Business Strategist aged 45 to 55 in the United States from the years 2012 to present servings small and mid-sized companies, and the metrics I put up in that demographic are 6 times the industry average and double the next closest competitor.

seems kinda silly….

also, for the record, I wasn’t comparing myself to any demographic, I said there might be 50k people in the world that are dominating a field the way I dominate mine, and who actualize an outlier vision within their field of play, that maybe there are 10k that have done the same thing as well as Endo, but only a handful, less than 10 that have done so as well as Musk.

I was pointing to the pretty incredible accomplishments of Musk….not inviting a critique of my assessment of my job performance ;-)

seems fairly obvious, but a few of us apparently jump on the chance for a pissing contest hahaha

Some of us also never turn down the opportunity to make outrageously fantastic statements haha expert at becoming an expert lol Hey, its pot calling the kettle black. I am sure you can quote many silly things I have said. All good, need a thick skin in the forum game.

In tomorrow's telecast, I may compare myself to Napolean. I heard he was a short dude just like me.

Touché.

And touché.

The point I intended to make is that the global population isn’t a valid basis for comparison - infants, for example, and most other people actually are not part of the available pool, and should not be included in the total count.

It’s likely a more accurate assertion that there’s only a certain number of you out of a million or so (several orders of magnitude less).

I thought you were Napolean, reincarnated with a Ducati habit

I love ya man, but what an utterly silly conversation this is lol

connect a catheter to your suite hump pack, just make sure you disconnect the line from there to your helmet
Back in the day, we had piddle packs. Those of you that have spent any time in DOD aircraft will be familiar the procedure. They have a new system now that has an in suite bladder system. Maybe we could use Stevens new suit as a test bed.

I could tell you but....You know the rest!!!!
Paid 35K and it has full akra and some other goodies. Has about 2500 miles, all starbucks miles. No kidding. Clutch plates were getting pretty worn so they
put in all new plates and basket and serviced too, no charge to me.

Did you keep the 21 S or get rid of it?
