I could tell you but....You know the rest!!!!
Paid 35K and it has full akra and some other goodies. Has about 2500 miles, all starbucks miles. No kidding. Clutch plates were getting pretty worn so they
put in all new plates and basket and serviced too, no charge to me.

How dare you bring this conversation(?) back to bikes!

This thread has now been labelled 'The Insult Each Other' thread.

There're, basically, two sides. One side has been vehemently angered by a statement Steven made, and they intend to let him know it.
The other side, fervently defend Steven, and will fight until the death.

The benefit is, that this thread becomes like a modern theatre of dreams. A spectacle to behold and enjoy, at no cost to the lives of innocent children, that should, in no way, be compared to any man.

All that aside, and not wishing to be in either camp, just a question:

Steven, isn't a cabriolet, a subset of Porsche?

Nice... how come you didn't want the 22? I have a deposit on a 22 but cant stop thinking about the R (I've never had an R bike before).
I had an opportunity to get a 22 that someone backed out on. Great deal. I knew it might be the smarter choice and easier to ride. But as you said when the sales guy called me and told me the bike just came in and never tracked only Starbucks I went down there. Probably more character in the R and more visceral to ride. Will I be faster on it? Maybe not. It does lack the immediate pull off the corners like the 1103 if your not in the revs. But the power hit above 12k is just plain silly. At the end of the day I’m looking for something that makes me laugh under the helmet when riding. These are emotional purchases after all. The 22 might have been smarter but I would have always wondered about the R like you said

Absolutely, I'm really enjoying racing my 22 bike, but I'm also looking forward to some euro events, off season, on the R
:D

I’ve met Steven in person a few times. We’ve been to the track together and we’ve ridden the canyons together. I have no clue what he does for a living, but he is an impressive dude.

aww thanks man, especially kind of you to say so while trying to herd my slow ass back up the the rest of the group in those mountains lol

Yep, I went for what I thought was the ‘smarter’ purchase when I got mine, and I do in fact keep wondering what the R is like.

Back to the thread intent, build updates.

Just got her home from the shop for what will probably be the last time for awhile.

gear selection sensor is sorted…new tires on, Woolich all installed at set up so I can do some track logging and auto tuning.

was really in there for the last few days because the engine light was on, they ran through everything so we new it wasn’t something serious, just codes left over from tearing the bike down and putting it back together.

one minor weakness of the Woolich system, a weird one, is that you can adjust just about everything on the bike, not just ignition timing and afr etc, but throttle control, Quickshifter kill times etc etc etc….and it’s all well sorted and easy to work with….but

ironically you cannot clear codes on a 2020 or newer bike with the Woolich software lol

so they ended up taking the bike over to Ducati Newport Beach where they had a dealer login capability to clear the codes, there were 37 codes to clear from the rear down and build up process.

so now everything is sorted, she’s running well, handling well, no engine codes, no little grim pins, just near perfection.

move been riding the K5 Gixxer track bike around the last week….and like it a lot, but wow when I get back on the Ducati after riding the Gixxer for several days it’s a whole different thing….I feel so much more connected as the rider to the Ducati, and it’s a way more nimble bike besides being faster.

A note on Windscreens….I’ve tried several now.

the two that work best for a big rider are the Puig with the curved upward edge at the rear of the windscreen, but even better is the Zero Gravity Sport Touring, works really well for even a big oaf like me to tuck behind.

Nice Porschka man. Had a few back in the day. Had some of the first prototype zero clearance turbos made for the 996 turbo. Usual stuff too. Think Kevin Z made them
They were comparable to KKK 16/27's and run it with meth injection. Fun stuff!!

right on, some of those 996 builds are sick, and still competitive at the races we do….mine was running a meth system until recently, we switched it to Motec system running E85….just as much power but in a way safer more controlled package.

They added QS tuning function?

Last I checked with Woolich is that this function isn't available yet for the V4 platform.
